Bitty Butterfly Holiday Tree

I love this adorable butterfly tree card. I used the Season of Style DSP stacks for the background layer and the striped butterflies. The base for the tree is 3/4 of the hexagon punch and the 'Merry Christmas' is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, I punched it out with the Modern Label punch and made the tree pot. I played around with the butterflies until they made a tree shape.

Happy Stamping :)

Festive Flurry Skating Birdie

Hello again, I just looked outside and we have some flurries making a light blanket of snowflakes in my yard. I thought I'd share another card I crafted while my hubby was watching the Grey Cup on Sunday. It features that adorable skating birdie again from the 'for the birds' stamp set. Which I punched it out with the 2 1/2" circle punch. It  layers perfectly onto the largest snowflake from the 'festive flurry' framelits (love how Stampin' Up! coordinates their products!).

I coloured him in with Stampin' Write markers (Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist, Island Indigo and Crushed Curry). The DSP is from the Winter Frost stacks and the cardstock colours are Smoky Slate, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White.

Stay warm, Happy stamping!

Pretty Poinsettia's

Merry Monday everyone ... I was so tired and stiff from 3 days of bazaar set-up/clean-up the past few days. My tendinitis is now flared up again in my right wrist, so my brace is on once again :(
At least I can still make cards!

Last night, our Canadian Football Team - The Hamilton Tiger Cats were playing in the Grey Cup, so my husband was otherwise occupied and since I have no interest in watching football, I got to tidy up my craft room after the tornado of paper scraps, glitter, and just stuff everywhere from crafting for the bazaar. I am happy to say that it is all organized again, the way I like it. Anyhoooooo.......

I had a chance to make a few things after my mess was re-organized - here's one of the cards I created.

I used the 'Joyful Chrismtas' stamp set which is onsale until December 2nd for 30% off (clear mount only!). This is one of my favourite from the holiday catalogue. I stamped the image in versamark and embossed with cherry cobbler, heat set and sponged to add the colour. I stamped the leaves in Garden green ink and sponged. I stamped 2 poinsettias, and I cut the larger, then smaller to get a more 3D effect. I coloured the center of the flower with the white gel pen. I diecut the two largest from the ovals framelits and used the Season of Style DSP stack for the striped background.

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Joyful Christmas [wood: 131802 - $27.95; clear: 131805 - $20.95]
Ovals Collection Framelits [129381 - $32.95]
Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack [132181 - $8.50]

Hope you like it :)

Birthdays are like hairballs...

Well, yesterday was my birthday.. it started off with a migraine, and that's never a good thing - it seemed everything annoyed me yesterday. I thought I'd share this cute card using the Giggle Greetings stamp set... I just love that adorable cat (the sentiment is so true for how the day started for me). I love the Giggle Greetings stamp set, especially that adorable cat! I used the hexagon punch (which I love) to make the background and the sentiment is from the Regarding Dahlias stamp set - punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and layered onto the Label Bracket Punch from the Holiday Catalogue! Super cute

My birthday did finish off nicely with a dinner out to my favourite restaurant, Tucker's Marketplace with some great friends and family.

Well, today is sure to be a hectic day... it's our Christmas Bazaar at my work... I'm heading out soon... If you're local come visit (1411 Upper Wellington St.). Have a nice weekend everyone :)

Reindeer in the Forest

Here's another card for my Christmas Card Buffet. It features the 'Lovely as a Tree' stamp set and the cute reindeer is from the hostess set 'Warmth & Wonder'. I used the oval framelits to cut out the forest image and layered it onto Chocolate Chip cardstock. The background is from the core'dinations cardstock in Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green and embossed with the Lattic Embossing folder. I sanded for a distressed look. I added some sparkle with the 1/8" Silver Ribbon and some dazzling diamonds on the snow banks. I hope you like it :)

All I want for Christmas is ... a starburst card?!

Hey! I'm really loving these starburst cards. This time I carried the effect over the whole card and not just half. The greeting is from 'Christmas Messages' stamp set - I love the greetings in this set.... this one in particular! I am going to make one for my hubby with this cute saying. To finish decorating, I used the 1 3/4" Scallop circle to punch out the greeting and added some 1/8" Silver Ribbon at the bottom of the greeting for a punch of shine! With Christmas just around the corner (a little more than a month.. eekkk!!) this type of card is a great way to use up your scraps of designer series paper!

Here are a couple of more types of starburst cards you could try...

The first card I call - The Season of Style Starburst . It was made with the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack, and the stamp is from the Tags 4 You bundle. It's finished off with some Baker's Twine and a Rhinestone Basic Jewel. To make you just cut strips of DSP measuring 4" X 1 1/4", cut diagonally from corner to corner. Since the paper that I used is double-sided, I 5 pieces (3 of one paper, and 2 of another). I started with the center and worked my way around... I try it first, then glue! The excess is then trimmed off and attached to a mat layer. The center points are then covered with the 2 1/2" circle punch so you don't see it anyways!!

The second I call - Grunged Out Starburst. It features the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (I used the largest image) and the cute Santa is from Santa's List . I added some Island Indigo Baker's Twine and a Very Vintage Button. Cardstock and ink colours: Very Vanilla, Tempting Turquoise and Island Indigo. To make the starburst, you cut a 4X4" square for your template. You draw your focal point (in my case, the 2 1/2" circle). Then draw your lines around the circle - then cut out and stamp over onto your card or project. Your template can be changed depending on the project you are working on.

Santa's List [wood: 131808 - $19.95; clear: 131811 - $15.95]
Tags for You bundle: [wood: 133293 - $37.95; clear: 133294 - $32.95]
2 1/2" Circle Punch [120906 - $22.95]

Hope you like it, Happy Stamping :)

Skating Birdie

My card share for today is one of the cards from my Holiday Stamp-a-stack featuring the 'For the birds' stamp set. I first cut my Island Indigo and Pool Party layers. I embossed the Pool Party one with the 'Chevron' textured impressions embossing folder. I cut a strip 2-1/2" X 5" from the 'Winter Frost DSPS', added a 'Tea Lace Doily'. I then stamped and coloured the skating birdie with Stampin' Write Markers and some 2-way glue to add some 'Dazzling Diamonds' Glitter. I punched it out with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch and diecut a 'Deco Label Framelit' in Island Indigo to use as a mat for the little birdie. before assembling, I added a piece of Island Indigo Baker's Twine where I tied a bow through a 'Vintage Faceted Button' - I just love these buttons, well buttons in general but these are so pretty!

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder [127749 - $9.95]
Winter Frost Designer series paper [132183 - $8.50]

Winter Frosted Mirror

Tis' the season to create some fun gifts... well, for me it is!! I made this once plain white mirror into this stunning art piece. I used the gorgeous 'Winter Frost' designer series paper from Stampin' Up! to create my mirror. This paper is oh-so-lovely, but this pattern in particular caught my eye. I used the 3/4" circle punch to punch my DSP. I used Tombo Liquid glue to adhere each circle to the mirror base. This particular sized circle fit perfectly onto this sized mirror, which I got from Ikea for only $1.99! It fit 13 circles in a row nicely, then I just kept adding each row until the entire mirror base was covered in circles. When I took my mirror outside to photograph, my dog, Tucker was playing in the yard. I was angling my camera so I wasn't in the shot or any sort of glare, I noticed Tucker appeared in the mirror... I called his name and he turned to look at me so I snapped the photo! I love it, he always loves posing for photos. Now he's a mirror model.. hehe!

This is the plain version, I jazzed it up with some Silver Foil Butterflies and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels... the butterflies look like metal cutouts!

The great thing about this mirror is there is not one way you could display it...
it looks great from all angles, the butterflies look good fluttering in all directions!

Below is some close up views of the butterflies - it's hard to believe that they are made of paper!! The Gold and Silver foil sheets really do look like a thin sheet of metal, amazing!

I like both, but I think I like the jazzed up one a bit more... those butterflies are so pretty!!

I hope you like my share, happy stamping :)

Perfectly Blended Christmas Card

It's Monday, and I am sharing one of the cards featured at my holiday card buffet - I call it A perfectly blended holiday gift card.  Gift cards holders are always popular in my neck of the woods with a Tim Horton's on every corner!! So this adorable coffee cup stamp is perfectly fitting!

I made a whole lot of these cards - over 20!

The 'Gorgeous Grunge' set is perfect for making the coffee spills and rings on the background layer. I stamped the bottom of one of my mugs to make the coffee cup rings using Soft Suede ink. To make your base card, cut a piece of 11" X 4 1/4", score at 5 1/2" and 2 3/4". Fold the 2 3/4" score line inward and punch a half circle to make the gift card easier to remove. Add some sticky strip to the outer edges to make your pocket. The coffee cups were stamped using Stazon, and sponged with Soft Suede, I coloured the lids in with Crumb Cake and made the cup sleeves with the 'Winter Frost' Designer series paper stacks.

I used the stamp sets 'Perfect Blend', 'Gorgeous Grunge' and 'Happy Hour' for the sentiment on the inside. Below is what the inside looks like.

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Perfect Blend [wood: 130745 - $16.95; clear: 131392 - $13.95]
Gorgeous Grunge [wood: 130514 - $30.95; clear: 130517 - $21.95]
Happy Hour [wood: 132013 - $36.95; clear: 126642 - $26.95]
Winter Frost DSPS [132183 - $8.50]

 Happy Stamping :)

Ornament Keepsakes Goes Metallic!

Hello... tonight I am having my first Stamp-a-stack. I've designed 5 cards, of which each participant will create 2 of. The card below is one of the cards we will be creating.

For this card the focal images are from the 'Ornament Keepsakes'. I used the matching framelits to cut the ornaments out.

The background was created with the 'Metallic Encord Pads' in both silver and gold with believe it or not the eraser from a pencil. I think it makes a nice background - it doesn't show well in the photo, but the silver and gold really do shine! I also added some Silver Glimmer paper, Basic Rhinestone Jewels and 'Silver 1/8" Ribbon - I just love this ribbon, it's so silky and shiny!!! The ink colours I used are Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky and Pool Party. The greeting is from 'Petite Pairs', the cardstock is Whisper White and Soft Sky.

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Metallic Encore Pad [Gold: 132141 - $12.95; Silver: 132142 - $12.95]
Silver 1/8" Ribbon p132137 - $6.95]
Rhinestone Basic Jewels [119246 - $6.50]
Ornament Keepsakes [wood: 128048 - $42.95; clear: 128051 - $31.95]
Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies [127816 - $30.95]

Hope you like it, Happy Stamping :)

It must be Santa... Santa Claus!

Today's post is all about the man himself... Jolly Old Saint Nick!  I used the 'Santa's List' stamp set - it's probably my favourite stamp set in the holiday catalogue to make my share today. This stamp can make such fun, and fab cards featuring the man himself... SANTA!

To make my card, I used Bermuda Bay and Real Red (I love this colour combo!! - very striking). I cut a piece of Very Vanilla and inked up my 'Be Very Merry' stamp and using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get my sentiment evenly spaced it was a must since the stamp is wood mount only.

I carried the sentiment over the entire background layer - in lieu of designer series paper, I created my own!! I cut strips of Bermuda Bay and Real Red and attached to my stamped layer in the center. Then before attaching to my Bermuda Layer, I added a piece of the 'Real Red Stitched Grosgrain' ribbon.

To finish, I stamped the man in Real Red ink, punched him out with my 2 1/2" Circle punch... Santa wasn't harmed in the production of this card, I promise! I cut a Bermuda Bay layer using the 'Circles Collection Framelits' and lastly, I added some sparkle with Dazzling Details to his fur trim on his coat and hat (it's hard to see in the photo, but it's there!).

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Santa's List [wood: 131808 - $19.95; clear: 131811 - $15.95]
Be Very Merry [wood: 132815 - $8.95]
Circles Collection Framelits [130911 - $32.95]
Real Red 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon [126875 - $6.75]
Dazzling Details [124117 - $3.25]

Hope you like my Santa card, Be Very Merry and Happy Stamping :)

Halloween Happiness Scrapbook Page!

Hello... my share for today is a scrapbook page that I will put into a frame. When the 'Holiday Happiness' catalogue came out in August, the first thing I knew I had to have was the 'Halloween Happiness Stamp'. Not only is that jack-o-lantern just so stinkin' cute - I love the sentiment below... Halloween Happiness.

This sentiment is very fitting for me as I got married on Halloween and just had my 4th Wedding Anniversary a couple of weeks ago. We've been together for 11 years and I must say that I have a wonderful husband, he's the person I enjoy spending my time with the most... he is my best friend! I love him to pieces and hope that we'll always be happy together :)

There is a great photo from our Fall~Halloween inspired wedding with his parents, his grandparents, my parents and both of us. I never thought I'd see the day where both my parents would be in the same place together, let alone be in a photo and look happy - I love this photo and I love everyone in it!

First I started by cutting piece of the 'Sweater Weather' designer series papers, I absolutely love this paper, all the beautiful fall colours (it's my favourite season, wonder why?!) Once I had my Sweater Weather papers adhered to a base piece of cardstock I then stamped a bunch of the pumpkin images by colouring the pumpkin portion of the stamp with a Pumpkin Pie and the stem with an Always Artichoke Stampin' Write markers. I then cut out the pumpkins..... which took a long time, but in my head this is how I envisioned this page would look so I kept on cutting!

I still wanted the Halloween Happiness sentiment to appear on my page so I coloured the greeting portion of the stamp with an Early Espresso Stampin' Write marker and stamped and using the 'Chalk Talk' framelits cut it out. It still needed something so I punched a 1" Circle of Early Espresso and attached a 'Very Vintage' button to the punched circle with Whisper White Baker's Twine.

This page really shows off these beatifully stunning fall papers and this adorable stamp - which means more for me since I really did find my Halloween Happiness.

For my leaves - I used the 'Magnificent Maple' single stamp. To get the multi-coloured look I used Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie inks and a sponge daubers. I inked up my daubers and added each ink colour starting with the lightest, Crushed Curry until the entire stamp was covered with ink, then I gave a good huff and stamped onto Whisper White. I then cut out the leaves and attached to the lower right corner of my page. I added some small strips of Always Artichoke which I curled with my scissors for a bit more interest to the page.

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Magnificient Maple [wood: 131868 - $11.95]
Halloween Happiness [wood: 131859 - $11.95]
Sweater Weather DSP [132184 - $13.50]

 Happy stamping, happy fall!

Sweater Weather Curly Cute Wreath and some of my furry friends!

Hello on this lovely fall day. I've been so busy prepping for our annual Bazaar at my work - I did manage to sneak some time in on the weekend to create some projects for myself! I made this super adorable curly paper wreath using the 'Sweater Weather' Designer Series papers. I LOVE these papers, the fall colours are so lovely...

I made the bow with the 'Burlap' ribbon, since the burlap doesn't have a wire in it, I got creative in how I assembled it.

I cut a 10" length, three 8" lengths, one 6" length and a 2" length. Then I cut two more 10" pieces for the bow 'tails'. To assemble I made loops with the ribbon... I attached each end to make my loop, then using hot glue in the center to make the loop into 2 like a bow. I repeated for the 3-8" lengths, the 1-6" length, and the 2" length, which was the very center of the bow. It appears as though it's one piece once it's completed.

I'd like to introduce you to some of my furr-babies... I love my babies, you'll probably see them appear on my blog from time to time since they're so stinkin' cute!!!

Jeffrey
Oscar and Tabitha

Some of my kitties were being so gosh-darn cute yesterday, I just had to take photos of them... They all get along so well, now if only my dog would behave! Have a great day!

Reindeer Noses

How cute are these?!! These would make great additions to gifts, stocking stuffers, gifts for dinner parties, co-workers... so many possibilities!

I used the TOP NOTE die to make the reindeer head in Chocolate Chip. For the antlers, I used the 'Autumn Accents' Bigz Die, but you could use many different dies to create the look of reindeer antlers. I added a tag with the Ornament Punch!

I punched out 2-1" Circles in Whisper White and 2-3/4" Basic Black circles for the eyes, ovals would work too. For the nose I used the 3/4" circle punch and the Red Glimmer Paper, and the Extra-large Oval Punch for his face in Crumb Cake. I used the 4x6" Cello bags to put the reindeer noses in (I used Whoopers... so yummy!)

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Christmas Ornament Punch (132152 - $21.95)
Christmas Collectibles (wood: 131772 - $26.95; clear: 131775 - $20.95)
Autumn Accents Bigz Die (127812 - $26.95)
Top Note Bigz Die (113463 - $26.95)

I hope you like it, Happy Crafting :)

Former favourite still a hit!

This beautiful ornament was featured on the cover of last years holiday catalogue. It was coincidentally the first thing (the Ornament Keepsakes bundle!) I ordered from that catalogue and I still use it as much now as I did then. I made several of these ornaments last year and decided to make some more this year for some gift toppers!

The stamp set and framelits needed to make this ornament are still available. While they are not featured in the catalogue - they are available online. The stamps are so beautiful and with the ease of the framelits makes cutting them super easy! The item #'s are below:
Ornament Keepsakes [128051]; Ornament Keepsakes Framelits [127816]
Here's another version, this time in some 'non-traditional' Christmas colours of Summer Starfruit and Coastal Cabana... I like them ;)

 Have a craft-tastic day!

A BOW-teaful time!

Hello on this cool fall morning.... brrrr..

I've had so much fun playing with the new Gift Bow Bigz Die from the holiday catalogue. It's a bit costly, but it's so worth it... you'll never have to buy gift bows again and you can make custom bows to suit all sorts of occasions! There are many different bows you can create with this die, what a perfect way to finish wrapping a gift! It's also great for other craft items...

It's also great to use up some DSP that you've got lying around, how great would it be to make your gifts coordinate with your cards and envelopes? You can achieve this with the envelope punch board and make a bow to match with this great die!

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Gift Bow Bigz Die [129977 - $40.95]

I hope you like these super-cute bows, Happy stamping :)

Paper Crafted Gifts!

Hello, srry it's been so long since I shared a craft project with you, I've been so busy with work and prepping for craft sales and our Christmas Bazaar at work! So, I'm going to share 2 projects that I have made.

The first features my ALL-TIME favourite product, can you guess what it is, it's a big secret you know?

Hmmmm...

I find myself constantly using this fabulous product... The HEXAGON punch!! I can't say enough good things about it. Well here's what I came up with...

I made this cute mirror with a 1.99 Ikea mirror! I used some retired papers and punched  A LOT of hexagons, I used a lot of glue and modge podge to make this beauty. I also used the 'fun flowers bigz die' to add the flowers. It was a great opportunity to use up some of my dsp that I had in stock! I hope you like it :)

My second share is something I saw last year on Kirsteen Gill's website - these adorable Elf Candy Pants! Super cute, and easy to make a bunch of these. I made them to add to gifts last year, and they were such a huge hit... I decided to make some more.

You will need the top note die to create the pants and shoes. This is another one of my go to products for many things, such a great and useful product! For the pants you cut ONE piece and score in the middle and make a slit for the pants/shorts. I used the Uni-ball Signo Gel Pen to add some stitching around the pants. For the buttons I used the 3/4" circle punch and the 1" circle punch. I added some 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon for his suspenders. I added the decorations to his shoes with the Boho Blossoms punch.

The legs are made from the 1/8" Cello Bags for 50 bags and fill with the candy of your choice. Smarties and M&M's also work great. I liked the colours of these sour jelly beans so that's why I used them. I also used Silver Glimmer paper for a little sparkle!

I hope you like my framed mirror and these adorable elf pants and try them for yourself!
Happy Stamping, Happy Creating :)

Christmas Greetings Masculine Card

Hello - I hope you've all had a great weekend thus far! I worked this weekend, but still had time to go out with my hubby for our anniversary last night and for breakfast this morning (Oct. 31st was our actual anniversary) but I had to work.

Anyhooo... My card for today is a great masculine card which features some current products and retired products. I'm a bit of a hoarder with products... I try to make them last!

I used the 'lovely as a tree' stamp set (the largest tree image) for this forest background - inked in 'always artichoke', the deer is from the new 'warmth & wonder' hostess stamp set - I just love that little deer! I added some crushed curry ink to make it look like the sun was shining down on the deer and I added some snowflakes also from 'warmth & wonder' in soft sky ink and added a bit of shine with a basic pearl in the center of each one (it's hard to tell in the photo - but it makes them pop out). The DSP is retired, and so is the button (it still might be available in the clearance rack!) I love the clearance rack - great products at such good deals! Well, I hope you like my card and feel inspired to create something!

Happy Stamping :)
