Go Wild for Stay-Closed Boxes

I love the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack, it's perfect for me since I'm a sucker for black and white - and this paper pack has just that (with some neutral tones also). The box I made was really quite simple to create, and the best part is it stays closed!

I used the Deco Label Framelits Dies to make the fancy edge. I kept it simple with the decorations, just a simple thank you from the One Big Meaning stamp set (such a great set!), punched with the 2" circle and matted with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch. A final touch with the Bow Builder Punch.

These great boxes can actually hold quite a lot of stuff inside. I was able to put a package of Hershey's Kisses inside so it does hold a lot more than you'd think!! I hope you like it. I will try to post some instructions in the next few days, I'm getting over a cold - so I've not had any creative time :(

Sprinkles of Life: Lattice Edged Birthday

Hello, I was asked to make a card for a co-worker's daughter to help celebrate her 20th Birthday. This is what I came up with. It's called a Lattice fold card. I used the super fun Sprinkles of Life stamp set, and coordinating punch to make this card. I used Pink Pirouette classic ink to stamp the cupcake icing, with some Watermelon Wonder sprinkles. Looks like one tasty cupcake, and it's calorie and fat free!!

I added the candle flames to the "20" and stamped and fussy cut the Happy birthday from the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set. I added the confetti hearts background from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I hope you like it, have a great day :)

One BIG Meaning: Glittery, Golden Purse

I'm sure you've seen a bunch of these super cute little purses, I shared one last week. I thought I'd try making some with Gold Fancy Designer Vellum - and they turned out fabulous!! I added even more glitz with some Gold Glimmer paper. I added a matching card that tucks nicely inside the purse.

I added the cute stitching to the card with the new That Thing you Did stamp set - and it's photopolymer which makes it easy to line up the images perfectly. A nice little card with some pretty packaging, what could be better?

They are super easy to make, just cut a strip of 3-1/2" X 12" designer series paper (or vellum, as I did), add tape to one end. Make a base measuring 2-1/2" X 5-1/2" scored at 1/2" on all 4 sides. Cut a slit on each side and add some adhesive and make your box. Wrap your designer series paper around your base. Cut a 1/2" strip for the trim and two more smaller ones for the handles. You can decorate your purses as desired. I hope that you like my share, and will try to make some of these super cute purses yourself.

Barnyard Babies: Fleece Navidad for Christmas in July

Today is Christmas in July. I definitely don't want the real Christmas here already - especially not the "white stuff" that comes along with it. But, I thought it might be nice to make a Christmas themed card to celebrate the occasion. I used the adorably cute Barnyard Babies stamp set. There are some adorable sayings to go along with the super cute farm animals. For Christmas they have FLEECE NAVIDAD . I couldn't resist making a card with this fun saying and the cute lamb. Check it out below.

I decided to make it fairly neutral with a Brick Wall embossed layer of Smoky Slate with some layers of Basic Black and Whisper White. I added some Metallic Gold Thread, don't you just love the thread?! I LOVE IT!! And I use it a lot. To make it a bit more Christmasy, I added a couple rhinestones, a Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine bow on the little lamb and a sentiment from the Stake your Claim stamp set and die cut with the Handpicked Framelits Dies and tucked it under the circle layer.

It's not an over the top Christmas card, but I like it and hope you do as well. Have a great day :)

Awesomely Artistic: Collage Cards

Collage stamping made simple with Awesomely Artistic. I don't know about you, but I love making collage cards?! They are easy to make and add a lot of impact to your projects. I made two cards to share with you all today. Check them out...

For my first card, I started with a base of Lost Lagoon. I stamped with Lost Lagoon ink for a tone-on-tone look. Don't you just love the tone-on-tone look on your projects too? It adds a nice subtle look. I randomly stamped all of the images onto my layer, in no particular order just so it looked even. I added a sentiment from the set - and even used the labeling stamp too. I fussy cut it out and stapled it onto my card, added a few rhinestones and a Basic Black layer and Bob's your Uncle it's DONE! I do have an Uncle Bob too!! ; )

For my second card, I went with a Whisper White card base and Basic Black for layering with Pacific Point for that punch of colour. I used Pacific Point ink also for my stamping. I used all of the stamps again, but instead of staples - I used Stampin' Dimensionals to add the "Friend" greeting. I still wanted to add something to step it up a tiny bit, so I used the Expressions Natural Elements which are die cut pieces of thin wood. I originally added the plain wood, but it wasn't working for me so I turned it over and stamped it with some Island Indigo ink and I think it works much better.

These two cards were so simple to make, but they look like they took a really long time. Only a few minutes each, I hope you like them.

A World of Thanks & Garden in Bloom for Simple Fuss-free Thank you's!

I had a chance to play with some stamp sets that I don't already own at my upline's drop-in for her demonstrators. I really wanted to try out the new background stamp A World of Thanks. It is super quick and easy to make a whole bunch of thank you cards in no time flat! I mean like a few minutes, seriously!

I went for a Mint Macaron card base, which everyone was calling Macaroon. I was initially against the name Macaron,  I think it was mainly because I just thought there was a typo. But they are in-fact two different types of cookies - and the Macaron is a French cookie and is so pretty, so I've conformed and call it Macaron since this colour is truly stunning and one of my go to colours. Okay, cookies aside (it's making me crave sweets), I went super simple - just a sort of tone-on-tone look... with some Basic Black in there just cause'! I added a strip of black near the bottom so I could add my sentiment. It's actually one of the "thanks" from the large stamp, but I decided to fussy cut it out and add some Silver Metallic Thread to add a bit of shine. I told you, super simple - but looks like you spent a lot of time!

I've got another super simple card. I used the Garden in Bloom photo polymer stamp set. Which because it's completely clear I was able to get my flower images stamped without stamping over any of the petals. I used Watermelon Wonder, for my card base with Basic Black layers (of course!).

I used the One Big Meaning stamp set for the Thank you on this card - punched out with two of my circle punches. Super easy peasy, and pretty. I hope you like my two cards, enjoy your day :)

Garden in Bloom

Hello, today I have a very "pretty" card to share with you. It's featuring one of my favourites, the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stacks. I absolutely love every pattern in this fab paper stack, but I really wanted to use the multi-coloured butterfly pages to be paired with the Garden in Bloom stamp set.

Those pretty butterflies are really quite tiny, but they really do pop off the page making a BIG impact for your cards and other paper crafting projects. I kept with the colours within the paper
[Watermelon Wonder, Pacific Point, Mint Macaron and Old Olive].
That's a great way to choose your colours, just match them with your designer series paper!

The front is pretty... then you open the card and surprise lots more fun!

I stamped some of the largest flower image and the second smallest butterfly, plus that adorable little bee. Isn't he sweet?! This stamp set is for two-step stamping, which is a great time saver since there is no colouring involved. So I had the extra time to fussy cut them all out.

I added some of the lovely sentiments to the front, and inside with a couple of the tiniest butterfly to the front before punching the entire sentiment out and adding to my front panel.

Here's a view of the top of the card - it stands up nicely for displaying.

Such a sweet stamp set, with lots of possibilities.
I hope you like my card, have a wonderful day :)

Barnyard Babies = Hexagon Bliss

Have you noticed the new Barnyard Babies stamp set? It's super adorable with all those cute farm animals. Of course, the pig image is my favourite! I just had to pull out my favourite "Mr. Hexagon" punch, and punched out some of my stamped images. I kept it simple with black ink and a bit Wild Wasabi for the grass to tie in with my background layer.

I decided it might look neat to fussy cut a few of the farm animals out and add to the bare spots where I didn't add any hexagons. Those animals are just so stinkin' cute, how could you not love this stamp set? It also has so super cute greetings as well, but for this card I went for the simple Happy Birthday sentiment for this card since it's got so much going on. I hope you like it, have a super day!

Pretty Paper Purses

I just love these super adorable paper purses, and the best part is they are super easy to make. My first purse is made with Bohemian Designer Series Paper for the purse base. With some Delightful Dijon and Rich Razzleberry card stock accents.

You can make these purses tall, short, large, medium, small or mini. There are so possibilities for these sweet little bags. Don't you just love these purses?!

I decided to make a ultra mini version of this bag, it's a bonus for anyone with a minimum order from July and August. You can make 4 of these cuties, with all the pieces pre-cut and scored and ready to assemble complete with instructions.

Aren't these uber-cute?! Perfect for dressing up a small gift, a party favour and much more. I hope you like these cute bags, you can make a variety of different sizes - just adjust your measurements.

Flower Patch: Ink Swiping Technique

I have a fun and simple technique to share. It's super simple, but adds a funky effect to your stamping projects!

It works best with a solid stamp, I chose to use the Flower Patch stamp set. It's perfect since the majority of the stamps are solid images and there are coordinating framelits.

Start by inking your stamp.

Check to see the entire stamp is well inked.

Swipe your stamp over your ink pad again. Check to see that you are happy with the look after the swipe.

Lastly, STAMP! Repeat as desired.

This was a super fun technique, and only took a matter of minutes to stamp and swipe the images. Then with the framelits, cutting was quick and easy. I chose some super bright colours, Hello Honey, Real Red, Cucumber Crush and Bermuda Bay to really pop off the Boho Chic embossed Kraft card stock layer. I hope you like it, happy stamping and swiping!

Birthday FISHES by the Tide...

I was so excited when the stamp set By the Tide made the list of stamps that will continue to be available in the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue. It is great for masculine cards - and I just love lose little fishes. I never go fishing, but these fishes sure do make great cards.

I paired up the By the Tide and Gorgeous Grunge for this card. I started with a layer of Whisper White card stock, adding the embossing powder before sponging the Night of Navy and Island Indigo. I stamped the fishes with Night of Navy - the ones that I fussy cut out I sponged with Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo and Daffodil Delight to make them pop a bit more. Some fishes are just stamped in the Night of Navy colour because they are supposed to look like they are off in the distance. I used Gorgeous Grunge for the air bubbles that fish make. I did distress the edges of the Night of Navy layer, but since the "Distress Tool" is retired, I just used my paper snips and it worked just fine!

For the sentiments I used the Alphabet Rotary Stamp to create my own greeting "Birthday Fishes"... I thought it was cute.. but one the inside it says "Oops, I mean wishes", even cuter! I had to add some coral and sponging but with a few sea horses instead of fish - no embossing powder this time just to dress up the inside a bit. I hope you like my card, have a wonderful day :)

Fluttering Watercolour Wings

I don't know about you, but I love butterflies. There is something about them that makes me smile. So naturally, I had to have the Watercolour Wings stamp set and coordinating Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies. I started with a card base of Mint Macaron - I LOVE this colour!!! With layers of Basic Black and and embossed layer of Very Vanilla with the beautiful embossed images from the Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. So lovely, don't you think?!

This was one of the cards we created at my "New catalogue product class". The watercoloured butterfly is super simple to do. You just line up your images and they overlap, and since they're completely clear (photopolymer) it's even easier. I added some Basic Black Baker's Twine and a Vintage Faceted Button to the center. The designer series paper is from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. The card below is the first one I made, slightly more simple since the designer series paper layer is missing - but the Delightful Dijon butterfly is equally stunning. I hope you like my cards, have a great day :)

Cucumber Tiled Sheltering Tree

Hi again, happy Saturday! I pulled out my Sheltering Tree stamp set a couple of weeks ago [seriously one of my all-time favourite stamp sets]. I already shared one of the cards that I made, a little while back.

This card actually came to me in a dream - does that ever happen to any of you?! Thus the importance of a notebook beside my bed. I love my paper punches and love making tiled cards. I stamped several trees and punched them out with the 1" Square Punch. I matted them all onto a piece of Basic Black, leaving a slight space between each square for the black to peek through. Gotta love Basic Black card stock - I think I use it on almost every card I make :)

I chose to use the plaid paper is from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack to tie in the Cucumber Crush ink on the trees. Such a bright green, I just love it. I decided to add some banners to the bottom of the tiled panel, with some Whisper White Baker's Twine wrapped around and tied with a bow. I love this look, and I hope you do too! Enjoy the sunshine - it's going to be a hot one today!! (don't forget your sunscreen)

Greetings Thinlits: Hello love

Hello... hello! Have you noticed the new Greetings Thinlits Dies? They were at the top of my list. I love the font, and that they aren't too large. For my card today, I used the new Happy Patterns Decorative Masks. I love stencils, and I wanted to add some dots since the paper I chose has circles (only larger) from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. Such fun patterns in that stack!

I decided to use the extra piece after cutting out the hello instead of the actual die cut. I added the love from the Host/hostess set Happy Birthday, Everyone. This is a super simple card to create, but is lots of fun too. I hope you like it, and have a great day :)

Best Thoughts in Vellum

Hello! It's Monday... and it's beautiful outside. I must squeeze in some gardening before I head off to work... and of course, I have to share a stamping project with you.

Today, I'm sharing one of my favourite cards that I designed lately... I used my favourite Host/hostess stamp set called Best Thoughts. It's always fun when you get new stuff to play with, you can experiment with the ideas in your head! I really wanted to use vellum - I LOVE VELLUM! This stunning flower, which I'm not even sure what flower it is? Whatever it is it's stunning and I want some in my garden.

I wanted to create a shadow effect with this gorgeous stamp by layering vellum. I coloured the back of my vellum with Stampin' Write Markers and also a Blender Pen with ink refills in various shades. This is definitely one card, I'll keep for me to look at for years to come.

A card from me to me... Do you ever design a card and keep it for yourself? Am I the only one? Well, I guess that's not entirely true... since I'm sharing it here on my blog! I used the lovely new Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to dress up the background, some Rhinestones and some pretty organza ribbon! I hope you like it, enjoy the sunshine!
