From the Herd: Just looking in on you...

I've got another card made with the From the Herd stamp set. I just can't resist these adorable cuties. I coloured the images with Stampin' Blendabitilities - nothing fancy, just colouring/blending. I stamped the pig again, he's just so cute... I couldn't resist. To get the grassy part, I used the hilly image from the Sheltering Tree stamp set - it give a bit more dimension. I did add some of the blades of grass too.

I even decorated the inside of the card. I stamped the piggy and llama again, but on the left side of the card and added more grassy hills on the inside.

This stamp set is so fun. I love all the fun sentiments also... my card says "Just looking in on you... and hoping you're feeling better soon!". A card like this one would cheer me up! I hope you like my card, have a great day!

Amazingly, Amazing Painted Petals

I made yet another card using the Painted Petals stamp set. I hope you're not getting sick of it, as I love it, and will most likely use it again!? I opted for a different colour combo this time around. For some reason, not sure why I don't use purple often? It's strange since I love purple. I decided to use Perfect Plum and I thought I'd try some Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay mixed with it - and I loved the colours together!!! It's strange how colour schemes come about?!!

I am really loving the angles and wanted to use the Striped Scallop Thinlits Die. I went for a white diecut over the deep Bermuda Bay colour... it really pops!! It still needed something, so I added a strip of Perfect Plum to the bottom and some sparkly Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper on either side of the thinlit diecut. Such pretty paper - and sparkle is never a bad thing!

Even after adding the glimmer and some more purple... it still wasn't quite finished. I made a cute little bow - in Perfect Plum to add a splash of colour using the new Bow Builder Punch. It's super quick and easy to make bows for your cards with this handy tool. I'm a sucker for paper punches anyways, so it was a no-brainer for me!

I hope you like my card, I think it is pretty?! Have an amazingly, amazing day!!

Indescribable Stained Glass & HOME Decor Letters

Quickly becoming one of my favourite stamps is the blossom stem from the Indescribable Gift stamp set. I have used it so many times, it's just so pretty. I wanted to make a "spring" inspired card, for Easter. From the front, you can't tell it's for Easter since the sentiment is on the inside of the card! I call this technique "Stained Glass". Since that's what it looks like!

I first cut my window with the Deco Label Framelits Dies on Coastal Cabana cardstock. I then made a frame by using the same size as the window and the next larger size. I stamped the blossom stem onto a piece of vellum cardstock and coloured the backside with Blendabilities Markers (Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake and Old Olive).

Before I attached my frame - I ran the card front through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I added my frame. I stamped the sentiments and cut rectangles around the words so I could attach them separately to the card front.

Here is a closer view of the blossoms - not too much colouring, I added a bit of darker spots to the inside of the blossoms for some depth. I did add some Dazzling Details for a bit of sparkle!

I cut another piece of Coastal Cabana (4" X 5-1/4") and cut another window for the inside to make it clean and tidy. I attached my vellum piece with mini glue dots. I stamped the Happy Easter sentiment and punched it out with the Modern Label Punch before attaching to my inside.

I have a bonus project today with the same stamp set, but in an entirely different way I called it the Indescribable HOME Decor Letters. I had this idea as soon as I got this stamp setI had these block letters kicking around for a while. When I got the Indescribable Gift stamp set I made these letters. It has been months since I made these, but for some reason forgot to take photos. This was the first thing I made with my new stamp set. You can check it out below...

I found these little letters at Dollarama, a dollar store chain we have in Canada. They were only $2 or $3 dollars. I had them sitting on one of my shelves in my craft room and then I thought, hmmm.. I wonder if I can stamp on them!? Apparently, you can.

They didn't turn out perfect, because some of the powder stuck to the letters (even with the embossing buddy) - maybe it is because it's not paper? Ah well, I am still happy with how they turned out.
I love this photo... how the home had a nice elongated shadow - I had to post it.

After I heat set the embossing powder, I coloured in each letter with a different assortment of Blendabilities Markers. The "H" I used Cherry Cobbler, the "O" is Pumpkin Pie the "M" is Bermuda Bay and the "E" is Daffodil Delight.

The stems and leaves are all the same assortments - the Crumb Cake, Skin Tone and Old Olive Blendabilities. I hope that you like my shares, and have a super day :)

Sheltering Tree for All Seasons

Another stamp set that was at the top of my list for MUST HAVES is the Sheltering Tree set. It's no surprise, as Lovely as a Tree is one of my all-time favourite sets. I decided to make a panorama card with all of the seasons represented on one card. For this of course, I needed a larger card base - so I used a 8X8" piece and score in half at 4". I began by stamping the very bottom of my Whisper White layer with the grass stamp and old olive ink. Then made my layering pieces and began to stamp my tree bases. Then the fun part bringing them to life!

I used softer colours for the spring tree, with some blossoms. For summer it was all lush and various shades of green, then my favourite season - fall. I used oranges, reds and yellows with hints of green still peeking thorough. Lastly, winter - the one we're in right now. I thought, instead of just a plain tree with no leaves, I'd add a few brown and orange leaves still hanging on from the fall. This stamp set makes it easy to make stunning works of art perfect for a variety of occasions. I hope you like it, have a great day!

Happy Heart Day: I Freakin' Love You + Sweet Packages

Happy Valentine's Day! I'm not gaga over this holiday, Halloween is my baby. But, I do enjoy making cards and crafts with the feel for it - because although these projects are appropriate for Valentine's, it could work for an Anniversary, or Thank you along with some other occasions too.

I made this card back in the summer - but it was appropriate for Valentine's Day so I saved it to share. I used a bunch of stamp sets to create it... Yippee Skippee and Good Greetings. I was preparing for a presentation at my upline's event last fall and this was one of my samples. I used the technique called "Subway Art".

It's a really fun technique - for this card, I used a combination of clear and wood mounted stamps, so I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig. I went for a traditional white with some pop of colour with the Real Red, but I had to add some black so a nice contrast!

This is one of the projects we created at my "It's all abou the Love" class last week. This is one of the "Postcard" style cards we made - with a nice distressed feel. I love the cute tiny envelope with the hearts flying out from it... super cute!

Valentine's Day Treats:
We also made these cute little treat bags using the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack - which although small, can hold quite a lot of sweeties inside. 4-5 chocolate hearts fit nicely!

I made these cute treats for my favourite Senior Peeps at my work! I bought a bunch of the Valentine's Mini Smarties Boxes and jazzed them up a bit with some pretty papers and punches!!

I used the Stacked with Love papers again for these, paired with coordinating colours of cardstock. Added a few punched out images and added some sentiments and there you have it a cute treat for someone sweet!

I just had to put the "Love You" on the Hexagon punch out, since I love it so much! It pairs perfectly with the xoxoxoxoxxo's too = D

This is the template that I made for the Smarties Box, could use for multiple occasions. I added a piece of sticky strip on the right edge, after I wrapped it around the box. I did adhere the DSP before scoring to save a step.

Hooray! Hooray! for Cheerful Critters

I love the new stamp set - Cheerful Critters... it's oh-so-adorable. The cute bunny, chick and bear make for fun cards for a variety of occasions. I made a fun birthday card combined with the Celebrate Today stamps and Balloon Framelits Dies combined with several assortments of Blendabilities Markers for my card today.

I fussy cut each of the cute critters. I decided to omit the signs from two of the critters on the outside, they are just cheering with their paws up! I thought the chick would be better for the center since she can't have her hands in the air and is yellow and it pops in the center the most.

Two fun stamp sets make for a fun card!
I hope you like my card, have a super day!

Painted Petals flip card

Hello there! Today I'm sharing one of the projects we made at my club meeting last week. We used the Circle Card Thinlits Die. I decided to use only one stamp set - Painted Petals. So glad I bought this set, it sure does get a lot of use. I cut a mask the size of the part that flips, to not get any ink on the center while I stamped the end panels. I used Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral Classic Inks for the left panel.

For the right side I just used Strawberry Slush - but stamped off to get the lighter tones. The center I decided to use the leaf to add some more green (Old Olive) to the card.

I just stamped the flower once in Crisp Cantaloupe and once in Strawberry Slush (I made a criss-cross), then added a few leaves. Then stamped the sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and punched it out with the 2" Circle Punch.

The front says Thank You, and it flips to say You are amazingly amazing.
The pretty ribbon is from the Best Year Ever Sale-a-bration Accessory Pack - love it!

I hope you like it, it's super simple and easy to create! Have a great day :)

Moon Lake: Make it Masculine

The new Moon Lake stamp set is perfect for making masculine cards in cinch. I've got two cards to share today...

I decided to stamp the entire front of a piece of Whisper White with the duck image using only black ink. I then cut rectangle and stamped the duck twice and coloured with Blendabilities Markers. I like the look of the outlined images in the background, it really makes the focal image pop off the page.

For the second, I used the image with the row boat. I think that's my favourite, as I love to canoe and it's pretty close. I diecut an oval and coloured with Blendabilities Markers again. I matted the oval with another oval and layered it onto a piece of the Stacked with Love designer series paper (the black & white) side.

The colouring aside, it really doesn't take long to make a bunch of these cards quickly.
I hope you like them, and have a great day.

From the Herd Birthday Wishes

Hello, I have a super cute card created with the From the Herd stamp set. I just can't seem to stop playing with this set. It must be those stinkin' cute animals! I started by layering my piece of Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper, I love the photo-like effect on this paper. I used the wood one since I wanted to have the animals peeking through a barn-like window.

I stamped the animals, and fussy cut them all out. To assemble the card, I layered my basic black onto my basic grey card base. Then added the designer paper with my 1-1/4" circles punched out.

I sponged the designer paper for a bit more of a rustic look. Then I coloured my animals with Blendabilities and put them peeking through the holes.

I stamped my sentiments on a scrap from the designer series paper and added them like they are a plank of wood from the barn. I added a few banners from the Balloons Framelits Dies and some Balloons from the From the Herd set for some birthday fun. To finish, I added some googly eyes.

Look how stinkin' cute he is!?

I hope you like it :)

You Plus Me: FUR EVER friends Framed Art

Hello and Happy Monday! I have a fun photo frame that I made several weeks ago, but haven't got around to posting it until now. Anyone who knows me, knows I have a soft spot for animals... especially cats. Almost 3 years ago I came across a stray cat, I followed her to behind our large shed at my work to find she had 3 little kittens (4 weeks or so?). Momma was so thin, I immediately went to get them some food. When I came back - I saw more kittens - 5 in total. Momma cat was very friendly, the kittens were so cute and tiny - but timid and ran away when I approached them. I gained Momma's trust and was able (over the course of a week), catch all 5 kittens and Momma too. I'm happy to report all 5 found homes and Momma (Alexis) too [my Mom has her - so I can still visit her]. For my share today, I used a picture of the 2 little furballs that I kept ... the first two caught coincidentally. These two are like peas in a pod and are always getting into mischief! They might not be as tiny as they once were, but they still find trouble every now and again.

I used one of my favourite Textured Impressions Embossing Folders - Tiny Triangles for the background, embossing a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. I layered onto Basic Black for a nice contrast.

This sentiment Friends become our chosen family, from the Painted Petals stamp set is very appropriate. I added the 'FUR EVER' made with the Little Letters Thinlits - I believe that applies to pets, as they are members of our family just as much as people are. I used the You Plus Me stamp set for the You're sweet sentiment - pointing right at their cute faces. I used the On Film framelits to cut the Polaroid to "frame" my photo. I just had to add some twine, since they are always playing with strings and toys. Silly kids!

They were around 5 months (give or take), since they were strays there is no way to know for sure when this photo was taken. They sure were cute, and still are, my Tabitha is what they call a Polydactyl. "A polydactyl cat is a cat with a congenital physical anomaly called polydactyly, that causes the cat to be born with more than the usual number of toes on one or more of its paws", according to Wikipedia.  Both her paws have 2 extra toes (claw too). I think it is super cute, she has mitten hands - it's strange that all (including Momma - she has one extra on one paw) to have this abnormality, except Jeffrey. I think it just makes her [them] more unique.

I can't imagine my life without these kitties, they came into my life when I was having a rough time and they made me feel better and happier. Here are some pictures of the first baby kitty that I caught, and the first kitten that I've ever had - my Jeffrey. He's definitely not tiny anymore, but he's still my baby.

Having a catnap... love him so much - look at that adorable face :)

There's my boy with one of my older boys, Oscar (20 years old) - still looks like a young cat.

I made the frame below last year (posted on February 28, 2014) of my Tabitha...
so sweet [The photo on the bottom right is my favourite].

I hope you like my share and have a cuddle with your furry friends!
