Happy birthday wishes... BY THE TIDE!

Hello! It's a beautiful summer day, not too hot!! I have a fun share today, a card with an inside as decorated as the outside...

I'd like to start off by saying that I love this stamp set... it makes really cute cards and you can add so much colour! I first took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and brayered the sky with Soft Sky, Crushed Curry & Pumpkin Pie inks. I used a post it punched out with the 1 1/4" circle before I started brayering to get the sun to pop. I made the cute sandpail from the cupcake punch and the handle is Early Espresso baker's twine. I made a flag, I used the Hexagon punch to flag the end.

I made the sand by tearing pieces of Crumb Cake cardstock and sponging the edges. The lobster is stamped and coloured with Wild Wasabi ink/marker, I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels that I coloured black with a sharpie marker for his eyes.

For the inside of the card I wanted to make it like 'under the sea'. I stamped the 'coral' image (my favourite image in the set, by the way!) I'm a huge fan of collecting rocks and minerals and I have quite a few real coral specimens - so that is naturally my favourite stamp in the set. I used versamark to stamp the coral and used Whisper White and Tangerine Tango embossing powder to get the two-tone look on the coral! I stamped the two fish and coloured them in with Stampin' Write Markers in some bright colours. I used a sponge dauber in Island Indigo to get the look of ocean water and make the coral pop more with the darker shading.

Hexagonal Thanks Much...

Hello... my card inspiration for Thursday is this Hexagonal Thanks Much card... I have to say again how much I love the hexagons, the amount of different card backgrounds you can create with this punch is just amazing!

For this card I used some of my favourite colours - Summer Starfruit, Tangerine Tango & Pumpkin Pie and a little Basic Black for good measure! The 'thanks much' sentiment is from the Six-sided sampler set which also coordinates with the Hexagon punch, but I chose to use the 1" circle punch to mix it up... and I love how it turned out - very striking effect!

Hexagon Punch [130919 - $21.95]
1" Circle Punch [119868 - $15.95]

Butterfly Trio

Happy Wednesday everyone! Before I head off to work, I'll post my card inspiration for today... It might not be obvious which stamp set I used this time... can you guess?!

Do you know which one yet?

Okay, I'll tell you...

...It's actually 'By the Tide'!

I stamped the 'coral' image a few times and punched the 'Elegant Butterfly' & the 'Bitty Butterfly', I thought it looked like wings that you would see on a butterfly. I LOVE how this turned out. I then layered them onto the smallest of the Window framelits in Bermuda Bay and layered onto Pool Party - the greeting is from the 'Sweet Essentials' stamp set.

A little 'Crushed Curry' Dahlias... Spicy meets Sweet!

I am completely in love with this beautiful floral image from the 'Regarding Dahlias' stamp set on page 91 of the annual catalogue. I stamped the 'Dahlia' image 3 times and cut around the entire one for the first layer, the next a bit inside, and more inside for the top layer. I embossed with white embossing powder and used an aquapainter to colour the flower with Crushed Curry ink. I added used Basic Grey to give the flower a pop against the Whisper White cardstock. I added a strip of Crushed Curry and embossed with the Needlepoint border embossing folder.

I used the NEW builder wheel stamp 'Viola's Lace'. It's a steal too... only $6 bucks! I love it, it is so beautifully detailed and the crushed curry lace, I would love that - yellow is such a happy colour. I spritzed the whole card with the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.

Birthdays are like hairballs...

Hello...... I haven't had too much time to stamp the last couple of weeks... we were off camping and trying to get some much needed rest! I always find camping so relaxing, you just sit around and enjoy nature, go swimming, hiking, canoeing...

Here is a card that I made before we left... those of you who know me, know I love cats... I have quite a few "real" ones! As soon as I looked through the annual catalogue I had to have this stamp set, even if simply for this cute, adorable kitty stamp! The stamp set is called "giggle greetings", on page 29 I just love the sayings in this set, they do give you a giggle, and who doesn't like that?!

I chose to stamp the who stamped image in versamark and emboss with black embossing powder onto Smoky Slate cardstock. Then I stamped another onto Basic Black cardstock with versamark and used white embossing powder and I just cut around the kitty and popped him up on dimensionals - cute eh?! I used Basic Grey & Smoky Slate for the background, embossing with the chevron folder and the stripes, for the stripes I just embossed one way and turned and embossed again to get the checkered effect.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Giggle Greetings stamp set [wood: 131062 - $27.95; clear: 131065 - $17.95.]

I hope you like it, Happy stamping :)

New catalogue product swap... Six-sided Sampler!

I participated in a swap this past weekend, Here is one of the cards I created using the NEW Hexagon punch and coordinating Six-sided sampler stamp set. I must say I am in LOVE with this punch! Do you like the chevrons?

I used the hexagon punch to create those too... you can vary the size by just moving the paper to the size you like! I also punch a chevron to add dimension to the hexagon images on the left. The cardstock & inks are in Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo and Smoky Slate - I must say one of my favourite colour combos! I still love anything orange and yellow, but these colours are fabulous. I used the doilies and cut them into quarters and sponged Island Indigo and Bermuda Bay.

A 'Regarding Dahlias' Hi!

Hello, I have a quick post today... featuring the 'Regarding Dahlias' set! The main floral image is so strikingly beautiful I just had to have it!

To make the card I stamped the 'hi' greeting 3 times and punched them out with the  1 1/4" circle punch and layered them onto the 1 3/8" circle punch and the center is layered onto the NEW Label bracket punch that is in the Holiday catalogue. I used smoky slate and crushed curry - love that colour combination... and that's it - quick, easy and DONE!

Backyard Basics Beauty

My first share!!! For my card I used the 'Backyard Basics' Stamp set. Now this is a set that I liked, but it didn't scream out to me 'I have to have it'. But the more I went through the catalogue... the more I became drawn to it... I just decided to get it and give it a try - and I love it, it is very versatile for many occasions like birthday, Mother's day, Easter, thinking of you, sympathy... even the bird or bee would be great for a masculine card.

I decided I wanted to make a tiled look with the stamped images. The set has 6 images, the only one I didn't use on this card was the egg stamp (it would work nicely too!). I'm really enjoying playing around with this set. It is a wonderful set if you like colouring in images with markers, aquapainters or blender pens... or you could just leave the images as black outlines too! The images are very striking and you have the option of getting the framelits to match to make for easy cutting!
