Message in a Bottle

Hello stampers!

There are several stamp sets in the new annual catalogue that have quite a few amusing sentiments/sayings to go with the fun images. One that popped up at me was the {Message in a bottle} set on page 52. It came at the perfect time as I had just received some brand new alcohol markers to bring the images to life. I used the {Seaside Textured impressions embossing folder} to add some depth and interest to the background. I didn't want it to be too busy and distract from the cute little jars!

In one of the bottles I stamped the octopus, in another the whale and in the center I went with the mermaid. I went with the "It's your day" and "Make a splash!" sentiments. I tied a piece of Whisper white twine around the center bottle with the mermaid with one of the sentiments - I think it was just enough to finish it off nicely.

I hope you like my card, have a super day!

So Many Shells meets Wood Textures

Hello stampers,

Today I have a card to share with you that features a stamp set that screamed "buy me"!! To me at least! It's called {So Many Shells} and it's awesome. Not only do you have the option to single and/or double stamp the shells (four to choose!), but the sentiments are lovely and have a nice block style text and handwritten words mixed into them. I just had to do a water colour wash over the images to make a fun marbled background to be added over top a piece of the {Wood Textures DSP} - LOVE this paper!!

Check out the stamp set - isn't it gorgeous!? I love it being a beach bum... Searching for shells is one of my favourite things to do while at the beach.

The {Wood Textures DSPS} is definitely a "must have" for your paper stash. They have a photograph look to them and there is so many different types of wood with varying neutral shades from white washed wood to a walnut stained wood.

Those two products are mainly what was used on my card. It seems rather simple, but I feel it has a lot of impact. Don't you?

I hope that you like my card, stay tuned for more projects made with these amazing products. If you have any questions, please let me know!

Eastern Palace: In-colour wash

Hello stampers!

I am a big fan of water colouring and water colouring backgrounds. I really wanted to play with the new 2017-19 In-colours. I started with water colour paper and the {Eastern Beauty} stamp set. Using {Versamark}, and {Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder} stamped a variety of images from the set.

After I heat set the powder I could start adding the colours. They actually look really nice together, don't you think? I diecut one of the images and added dimensionals to the large front layer then attached the diecut straight to the front of the Tranquil Tide base card. You can see a closer look below.

I'm afraid I'm on the water colouring kick - not sure it will ever go away. It is so relaxing and the time just flies away. It's really good for my mindfulness practice! For a final detail I added some of the {Iridescent Sequins} randomly on the front for a bit of shine. I hope you like my card, have a beautiful day!!!

Climbing Orchid

Hello stampers!

One of the "must haves" for me from the new Stampin' Up! annual catalogue was the {Climbing Orchid} stamp set and framelits dies. I was totally sold when I saw the gorgeous samples in the catalogue. Today's card was the very first time I "played" with this set so it's quite simple. Although I do think it's just enough and too much busyness would distract from the pretty flower blooms.

I stamped the orchids with Sweet Sugar Plum with Crushed Curry centers. I stamped the stem directly onto a piece of the {Wood Textures DSP} before adding my flower blooms.

I added a few photos below that come directly from the pages of the catalogue and you'll see why I HAD to have this set. They are stunningly beautiful!!

Watercoloured Pencil Sunset with High Tide

Hello stampers!

Sorry for the long hiatus. I was asked to present at my Stampin' Up! Upline's event yesterday. I presented {Watercolour Pencils} and it was so much fun to sit and have some creative time just for me. I've been on the back burner while caring for my dad. Today, I have a card that I created as part of the display samples for my presentation from yesterday. It is my favourite sample and it is featuring the {High Tide} set, which I love.

I absolutely love the beach so I really wanted to pull out this amazing stamp set which is perfect for a sunset. I used a bunch of different pencil colours - Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso for the "land" area that I drew. There is something about the watercolour pencils that is like magic. You colour like you would normally colour, then when you add water it magically turns into a painting. So fun to play with and so many of the event attendees were excited to try them out. I hope you like my card, I have a bunch more cards to share with you this week. I hope to see you soon!

NEW Product Videos

Hello stampers!

The brand new Annual Catalogue by Stampin' Up! went live a few days ago and is fabulous as always. I unfortunately haven't had an opportunity to "play" with any of my new stamping toys just yet as I have been caring for an ill family member and that takes precedence. I am hoping to have a chance sometime this week so I can share some projects with you all.

Luckily Stampin' Up! has made a bunch of videos for us to share with all of you and they showcase some of the amazing new products and give you the "how to's".

Here are a few of my favourites:

You can find all the product videos under the "tab" at the top of my blog labeled "Product Videos". I hope you have an amazing day (even with the rain).
