A Window Box of Orchids

Hello stampers!

Orchids again? I know!! I just love it sooooo much, I couldn't help myself. I bought the {Window Box Thinlits} months ago and didn't have much time to "play" with it since I became my Dad's caregiver. I used the orchids to finish the top of the box, although the box is gorgeous all on it's own. This box came together pretty quick - for the box you need to die cut two pieces to form the box. I cut an extra piece with Vellum to make an opaque window where the "cut outs" on the top of the box. This box is definitely stunning!

I stamped a could of the orchid images, one for a large orchid and one for a small one using Perfect Plum and Sweet Sugarplum card stock and inks. I decided it needed a bit more colour so I added some Emerald Envy leaves.

I put some chocolates inside to show you just how big this box is. I could have stuffed a few more kisses in the box. I'd say it could house around 20 kisses or other candies of equivalent size. I hope you like this box, I can't wait to make some more beauties with this fab set of thinlits.

Lift me up: Multi-coloured tone-on-tone

Hello stampers!

Amidst all the excitement of the upcoming Holiday catalogue we often forget about the fabulous stamp sets available in the Annual Catalogue, which itself is only a few months old. One set that I was happy to see in this years' catalogue is {Life Me Up} that was carried over from this years Occasions catalogue.

I do try to give some inky love to my older sets since I adore them. I had a bunch of scraps of card stock lying on my desk from another project and a light bulb went off and this card was envisioned. I stamped on all the colours, I used Soft Sky, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, Daffodil Delight and Peekaboo Peach.

After all the scraps of paper were stamped with the coordinating colour, I had them match up so they looked like a puzzle. I'm pleased with how it turned out, just like I'd envisioned. I decided to add some bling with iridescent sequins and some silver glimmer paper. I hope you like my card, have a good one!!

Not one, two, three - but four Climbing Orchid Cards

Hello stampers!

With the holiday 2017 catalogue approaching soon, demonstrator blogs seem to be full of holiday themed projects. I have made a bunch of projects that are not holiday themed at all. We did just get a brand new catalogue in June and it's only August. I don't want to forget about all the beautiful stamp sets and products from it. So today, I have a bunch of cards to share that I made with one of my very LOVED sets from the Annual Catalogue called {Climbing Orchid}.

I found myself constantly gravitating towards this stunning set and who doesn't love flowers? I have used this set so much, that some of the other sets that I ordered have remained untouched... I know! That won't last for long, I assure you. I went to some of my favourite colours and all in green tones. I absolutely love green flowers - I just find it so interesting to have a tone on tone flower. Maybe it's just me?!

I used watercolour paper for all of my samples shared today. This first one I used Emerald Envy, Lemon Lime Twist and a splash of Berry Burst to the centers. Next, I went with Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive, which compliment each other perfectly. Old Olive works perfectly for the shading on the lighter shade of green, Lemon Lime Twist. I did use a tiny bit of Berry Burst on this one too. It's funny, but when I first got the new in-colours I thought I wouldn't like the Berry Burst because it appears too pink - but it's more of a fushia. To my surprise (and some others), I find myself using it quite often.

For the next card I went back to the darker tones, using the same colours as the first. I water coloured the background and added a few sequins to step it up a bit.

Lastly, the same colours as the second Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive. I decided to use an embossed background with the new {Ruffled Textured Impressions Embossing Folder}. I fussy cut out the orchid and added dimensionals for more depth.

I think I used pretty much every stamp in this set on these four cards - it's surprising how much you can do with this set. You can send orchids for a fraction of the cost! I hope you have enjoyed peeking in on my blog today - I hope you have a beautiful day!

Carols of Christmas + Embossing Paste

Hello stampers!

I have another holiday themed card to share today featuring {Carols of Christmas}. This set is available NOW for everyone to order! As a demo, I got to order mine last month and play a little with it. I decided to try out the {Embossing Paste} to see if it could pull off the look of snow... guess what? I think it's not bad.. not bad at all!!

I must say that I do enjoy making holiday themed cards, even though we don't really celebrate it. And just look at that adorable little reindeer.... so stinkin' cute!

I heat embossed the stamps with clear embossing powder and added some dapper denim ink to do a watercolour wash for the background. I hope you like it!
