A 'Hand' stamped Happy Haunting & Boo to You!!!

I got a lot of baking done yesterday...... it looks like a candy store in my house. I've got a few more to finish up today before work. I have two shares today. When I was designing my Halloween Party invites and I was getting a lot of ink on my fingers. It's quite the common occurence to have ink stains on my hands on a somewhat daily basis. So I decided I would put my fingers into my Real Red classic ink pad and make a smudge onto my card layer. Making this a real 'HAND' stamped image! I used some of the stamps from Gorgeous Grunge  to add some interest to the background. Plus, I just couldn't resist adding that oh-so-cute skeleton!!

Here's another card I made while 'playing', when trying to design my invites. I used the same colour theme as the previous card, Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White (can you tell I made them on the same day?!). I stamped random ghosts and bats from the Freaky Friends and Holiday home stamp sets - the blood splatters is from Gorgeous Grunge. These two cards didn't make the cut for my invite, but I still love them (they are Halloween after all!!) Eeekkkkk tomorrow is the best day :D

Simply Pressed Clay 'Halloween' Roses

I saw some gorgeous roses on Pinterest a few weeks ago and wanted to try to make some of my own. This was my first attempt, so they're not perfect by any means but I think they look pretty realistic! I made little balls, flattened them then just formed one on to the next until I had the size flower I wanted. I will advise you to wear gloves as my hands were covered with black ink and it took days to come off!! But I think if I went too long without some kind of ink on my hands, people would think something was wrong!!!  :)

I've gotta get back to baking treats for Friday! My house looks like a candy shop - it's wonderful!
Have a great day :)

Holiday Home: Trick or Treat

Just finishing up some last minute stuff for my Halloween get-together later this week. I made today's card while coming up with ideas for the invites. It has been quite some time since I used the brayer, and I thought it was about time I did. That's how I created my background sky using Tangelo Twist, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry. I die cut some houses using the Homemade Holiday framelits dies and Basic Black cardstock. I stamped one house and coloured it in with Blendabilities markers. To make the hills that the houses are sitting on, I just punched an extra large oval and 2-1/2" circle punch - but cut them in half.

The Trick or Treat sentiment is from the Ghoulish Greetings set - it was easily punched out with the Word Window and layered with the Modern Label punches. I added one of the spooky tree with a little spider, some bats, pumpkins and ghosts. I stamped the ghosts on vellum and cut them out so they appear sort of transluscent. This stamp set is so cute, and very versatile the the many different holidays coming up (Thanksgiving/fall, Halloween, Christmas and New Home). I hope you like my share, have a wonderful day :)

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Stamps: Holiday Home, Ghoulish Greetings
Papers: Basic Black, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango cardstocks, Vellum

Holiday Home meets Life in the Forest: Fall Conference Card Contest Entry

Hello there, I hope you all had a lovely weekend. A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to get to attend Stampin' Up!s Fall Conference that they held in Kitchener. It was a great event filled with both fun and learning. Attendees had the opportunity to design a card for the Ronald McDonald Children's Charity. They made a contest out of it - the criteria was that it had to be cheerful, suitable for children and contain NO words or sentiments. The last part is what I had the most trouble with. But I just got the Holiday Home stamp set and opened it right up to play and here's what I came up with. Sadly, I did not win - but I love how my card turned out.

I chose some bright colours to start off. I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Soft Sky cardstock colours. I used a lot of colouring on this baby. From all of the houses, the tree and the cute little critters from Life in the Forest. It's been a while since I played with that set - I remembered how much I love it. It's hard to resist those adorable forest critters faces. Except the background was sponged, and grass was a torn piece of Old Olive Cardstock.

I hope you like it, and that the person who gets my card likes it too!
Have a super day :)

Endless Wishes is a STAR!

An early day today... not that I start work early, but I started a new medication yesterday and insomnia is a side effect - so naturally I got it!! Well, on the brightside... I started some preparations for my Halloween party. I've been making chocolates!! Zombie hands, witch fingers, skulls, bones... lots of fun :) Plus, I got two banana breads baked. A productive way to spend my non-sleeping time - since I'll probably crash soon (hopefully).

Well enough about that, for today's project - I used the 'Endless Wishes' stamp set. This set was actually available last fall (for a very short time, as it sold out too quickly!) I was lucky enough to get one before they were all gone. But lucky for everyone, it's in the new holiday catalogue so many more people can enjoy its fabulousness.

You can check out what I've come up with below...

I started with a piece of Moonlight designer series paper (it's one of the mini stacks in the Annual Catalogue.) I cut the two largest stars using the Stars Framelits Dies. I randomly stamped various sentiments onto the white star, then sponged with Blackberry Bliss ink. I layered the white sponged piece onto a larger star cut from Blackberry Bliss cardstock. The sponging really adds a nice pop to the card! I added some Silver Foil stars, Rhinestones and Frosted Sequins for some sparkle and shine! I hope you like my share, have a super day!

Visions of a Dancing Santa! and NEW Holiday Supplement

Hello... I hope you all had a nice weekend! I worked, but I still enjoyed myself with my favourite senior peeps! For my card share today, I told you I had more projects created with the 'Visions of Santa' stamp set to share. This one only has one, lone Santa. I used the hostess/host promotion that is available until the end of October called 'Good Greetings' to make the majority of this card. I used my handy-dandy stamp-a-ma-jig to line up my stamps (since I have wood mount). I used all the Christmas/holiday sentiments and alternated stamping in Real Red or Mossy Meadow inks. I used the 'Delicate Designs' embossing folder (the one with the scallop) to make my Real Red piece have a bit of pizzazz and a strip of Gold Glimmer Paper to have some sparkle! I've never really been a huge fan of gold myself ... I'd say I'm more of a silver person. But lately I've been obsessed with the gold, so you'll probably see more gold in my future!

Visions of Santa: 'Tis the Season to be Fancy

Okay, so I'm a little obsessed with this stamp set.. but it's just so stinkin' cute I just have to use it. I made a larger card (4" X 8") so I could stamp a bunch of Santa's across the front layer. A regular card would only fit 3 or 4 Santa's... What's better than 4 dancing Santa's?  ... 6 dancing Santa's, of course!! I decided that I would just leave the outline and not colour since my background layer of Cherry Cobbler would give some contrast and a pop of colour.

I added some sparkly Frosted Sequins and some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine to jazz it up a bit further and add a bit more colour! To make my sentiment I just positioned the photopolymer stamp onto my clear block in a wave pattern and stamped it multiple times... I thought it suited the uber-cute jolly dancing Santa's!

Papers: Cherry Cobbler & Whisper White Cardstock
Inks: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink

Tee-Hee-Hee... it's all about the SHOES!

Hello... it's a bit damp out there today. A good day to craft, since I have the day off! I hope you're not sick of me sharing projects made with 'tee-hee-hee', 'freaky friends' and 'visions of Santa'?!! I just love those sets so much I can't seem to stop using them! I just love the stamp set 'tee-hee-hee', mainly for the many fun sayings - plus it has some cute images too! I stamped the shoes 3 times, in 3 different colours onto a Project Life Grid card. Layered onto a piece of Real Red, Basic Black and Mossy Meadow. Added some twine and my sentiment "Whether your a good witch or a bad witch, it's all about the shoes". I couldn't agree more... oh, the witches hat is also from the same set.

I hope you like my share, have a great day!

Visions of Santas: dance, sparkle and shine

Hi there, it's a holiday here in Canada - Happy Thanksgiving to all those Canadian Peeps out there! I'm up bright and early before I head off to work (well I'm definitely early, we'll have to see about the first one later!?!) I know this isn't a Thanksgiving card, but I have another dancing Santa card today using 'Visions of Santa' to share. Those cute dancing Santa's just stay in my head and tell me to play, play, play.... and I always seem to say "okay!" I started by stamping one Santa onto a layer of Whisper White and coloured him in with Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities markers - the belt was coloured with a Basic Black Stampin' Write marker.

I stamped the sentiment... "may visions of Santas dance in your head" they sure will after using this set!!! I cut a piece of Basic Black for another layer and cut another on an angle with a piece of Cherry Cobbler for another. I embossed the Cherry piece with the 'On Point' embossing folder. I stamped two more Santas and fussy cut them out and coloured the same as the first. It still wasn't enough so I added some Santa & Co. designer washi tape - the one with the red and black lines, since it coordinated perfectly! But that still wasn't enough, so I blinged out my card BIG time! I added some Frosted Sequins in both sizes and some Rhinestones coloured with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities. Finally it was finished! Santa's at the discotheque.. what could be more fun than that!?

I hope you like it, have a super day!

Freaky Friends Halloween Treat Toppers

Hello... I made these super cute Halloween treats using the 'Freaky Friends' set. They didn't take much time at all, I started by stamping a bunch of the images for my samples I used the witch and Frankenstein, which I fussy cut out. For the witch I punched a 1" Tangelo Twist circle and stamped a sentiment and tied some baker's twine and done! Very quick and easy. For Frank, I made it a little bit more complicated. I stamped the words 'to be FRANK I love Halloween'. I used the Alphabet Rotary stamp so I could customize my greeting perfectly and cut out around each word and attached to the 2-1/2" Circle base for my treat topper.

I just love the 1X8" cello bags, they are so perfect for many holiday treats to give to family, friends, co-workers... I put some orange and black sizzlets inside (chocolate!). I sandwiched my cello treats between to 2-1/2" punched circles.

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Stamps: Freaky Friends, Tee-Hee-Hee, Alphabet Rotary
Papers: Basic Black, Tangelo Twist, Whisper White cardstock
Inks: Black StazOn, Blackberry Bliss
Accessories: Large Oval Punch, 1X8" Cello Bags, Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Stampin' Trimmer, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Two-Tone Tangerine Tango Baker's twine

Freaky Friends: Monster Birthday Wishes!

Hello.... I have a fun card to share today that we made at my club meeting. It's featuring one of my favourite sets - Freaky Friends. This time it's not the conventional "Halloween" card, I made it into a birthday card. Using the Alphabet Rotary stamp, it's super easy to make your own custom greetings.

I used the 3 "Monster" images and stamped in Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon and Cajun Craze - punched out 1-1/4" Circles with 1-3/8" circle mats in Basic Black.

The background is made using the 'Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder', some Basic Black cardstock a strip of Lost Lagoon and Basic Grey - which coordinates with the strip of Designer Series Paper from the Confetti Celebration pack. Of course, I had to add some Basic Black Baker's Twine and some fun googly eyes!  This card would be perfect for a child's birthday or a big child's birthday too! I think those monsters are just so stinkin' cute! I hope you've enjoyed my share, keep warm - it's a crisp fall day today!!

Trim the Tree Gift Box Set

Hello... I made this cute box set for my club hostess last month. I used the Trim the Tree designer series paper - there are actually many papers in the stack that could be used for other occasions other than Christmas!

To make the box you cut a piece of cardstock measuring 7-3/16" X 7-3/16", score all sides at 2". Cut a piece of cardstock measuring 6-1/4" X 6-1/4", score all sides at 1-1/2".

To decorate to box: cut a piece of cardstock to 3X3", a second piece in a different colour or Designer series paper cut to 2-7/8" X 2-7/8". I added a strip of Cherry Cobbler cardstock 1" X 2-7/8" with 3 punched out Flowers from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack using Champagne Glimmer Paper. To finish I tied the whole thing up with some White Baker's Twine!

But the box is really perfect to house 3X3" mini note cards. I made them coordinate with the box - which makes a perfect gift for a hostess, with the envelopes too. Just cut a piece of cardstock measuring 6 X 3", scored at 3" and decorate with layers starting at 2-7/8" X 2-7/8". I hid a little extra something underneath the cards too!

Booooooooooooo to You!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I was playing around with some of my new stamps last week...and out came this card! Man did it feel great to have some time to create. I used the fabulous 'Good Greetings' stamp set, available as a hostess promotion until the end of this month. I started with a Tangelo Twist card base, a Whisper White layer, a Basic Black layer - then some fab Back to Black Designer Series Paper... and some strips of Silver Foil to help the sentiments pop. My sentiment was stamped numerous times to fill my entire Tangelo Twist strip in the center of my card with the 'BOO TO YOU' greeting. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to get the words lined up perfectly since I got the set in wood! I added some baker's twine and googly eyes to finish. Have a 'boo-tiful' day!

Happy World Card Making Day!!! Tee-hee-hee Graffiti Stamped

Hello all! Sorry it's been a few days since my last post.. too much to do lately! I just finished work - we had an Art Show featuring works created by some of my favourite senior peeps - I work at a Senior's Residence in the Recreation Department. They sure are a talented bunch... I'm so proud of the progression they have made over the past year. The show is also a great way to spark interest in new residents.

On Friday and Saturday Stampin' Up! had their first Fall Conference in Kitchener, ON. It was the first event that I've attended...it was full of fun and learning. Friday night was called a 'Product Playground' we got to make a fun project using the new 'Gift Box Punch Board'. I must say that after using this handy-dandy tool, I must have one now! Plus some prize patrols.. sadly I didn't win but it was still fun! Today we had another fun day with more stamping for a card and another cute box. They also gave us a stamp set for each event we attended - so I got two!!! Who doesn't love free stamps?! I love it!!!

Well today is actually World Card Making Day, did you know that? I said to myself that I simply must post a card - it's one of my favourites that I have created in the last little while! I just love the 'Tee-hee-hee' stamp set - not much of a surprise there since it's a Halloween set. I stamped the various sentiments in vertical and horizontal patterns, then added a few of the cute images to fill in some of the bare spaces. I matted it onto Basic Black, Basic Grey and Basic Black and matted onto a Whisper White card base. The sentiment I wanted to pop off a bit more was 'witching you a happy halloween' so I stamped it on vellum and cut out a rectangle and added it on top of my first stamped image. I finished by adding some Basic Black Baker's Twine, staples and a few randomly placed googly eyes.. just cause'.  I'm so in love with how this card turned out!! It suits me to a 'tee'!!! hee-hee!!

I hope you found some time to make a card and celebrate World Card Making Day today!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Beauty of the Season is Simply Stunning

I know it's still too early for Christmas cards, but I made this card a long time ago and thought it was about time that I shared it. One word to describe the stamp set that I used for my card today -- stunning! This beautiful cardinal stamp is so gorgeous - you don't need much else on your card. This set was one that was available early (July 8), so I snached it up right away. Today's card is rather simple - but the stamp is so beautiful it doesn't need much to give the WOW factor! This is another set that you can make this year's holiday cards with only one set of stamps!

I stamped large image with the bird and coloured in my branch and cardinal with Blendabilities Markers - layered onto some Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, tied some Baker's Twine and stamped a sentiment and ta-da... done!!! Even the colouring doesn't take a long time!

I hope you like my share, don't forget about the Stock up and Save sale on until October 6th!
