By the Tide is setting sail

Hello again... thanks for popping in today. I hope you liked the projects I shared earlier today, I have another fun card to share. The starring role is one of my FAVOURITE stamp sets. I use it all the time and it's awesome for making masculine cards the {By the Tide.

I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this set. Every image in it is great. My favourite is the coral image, probably because I collect gems, minerals and fossils. I have quite a few pieces of coral in my collection so that's pretty much a no-brainer for me. Any hoo... I added a few other elements that are also retiring besides the stamps, the Greetings Thinlits Dies, 2-1/2" Circle Punch and the Deco Label Framelits Dies. A bit of Gold Metallic Thread & Perfect Accents for some air bubbles to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping!

Pink Overload! Blended Bloom, Perfect Pennants & Greetings Thinlits Dies

Hello again! I went over the top "pink" with these two cards, something I don't usually do. I have said it before, that pink isn't necessarily my go-to colour, but I'm trying to incorporate it more. Well, I sure have today...

Okay, are you ready for pink overload? ............. This first card is using a single stamp called {Blended Bloom} and I absolutely LOVE it. It looks like a Helleborus plant which I have in my garden.

Don't you think they look similar? Not the colours, of course - but the shape. Such a pretty plant, I get so many compliments on mine - which is a greenish purple colour.

Hellebores: ~~Helleborus Winter Jewels Harlequin Gem~~:

The designer series paper is from the {It's my party DSP stack}. I added a few other retiring goodies, the coordinating enamel dots, black stampin' emboss powder, the banner punch, two toned twine & the sentiment is from {Perfect Pennants}. I just love this sentiment, so lovely.

Next, I was just taking a break from some gardening and decided to "play" for a little bit. I had some bits & pieces lying around and put them to work and this is what I came up with. Most items are retiring, like the Itty bitty punch pack, Greeting Thinlits Dies, Shine on Specialty Designer Series Paper, Two-toned Baker's Twine, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, White Filter Paper, It's my party enamel dots, Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper. In other words, a whole bunch of fab stuff!

Lots of layers, textures and even a bit of sparkle going on with this card. I'm pleased with how this pretty "pink" card turned out and the pink wasn't as scary as I thought... who knew?!

I have a bunch more cards to share today featuring some of my favourite retiring products, hope you'll check back later!!

Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping!

Sweetbriar Rose Thanks

Hello, I have two cards featuring a bunch of retiring products. For my first card, I used the stunning {Sweetbriar Rose} stamp set. The {Deco Label Framelits Dies, Greetings Thinlits Dies, English Garden Designer Series Paper, Blackberry Bliss card stock, Blackberry Bliss ink & Mossy Meadow ink.} Quite the list wouldn't you say? I'm so very sad to be losing all these lovely products, but I am excited for the new ones we are about to have.

The Sweetbriar Rose stamp is a single stamp, and is so pretty. I love flowers, all shapes, sizes and colours. I used two of the in-colours (2014-16) that are retiring in two days... Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow. I think Mossy Meadow is my favourite colour, well and Bermuda Bay. I'm going to miss it so much!!

I did some water colouring on the flowers using an {Aqua painter} with my ink refills. I punched it out with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch, which is also retiring. So sad, one of my most used punches. I used the retiring {Deco Label Framelits Dies}, the second largest to die cut a piece of vellum card stock to add over the Sweetbriar Rose image. I adhered the "thanks" die cut with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, and on the opposite side before attaching to the water coloured image. This way you can't see any of the adhesive through the vellum.

For my next card, I went with less layers - but it does pack a punch. I used similar colours as the first card, with the exception of adding Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey to the background wash. It adds a nice effect when the colours blend together. I added a few Rhinestones and that's it. I hope you like these cards and have a sweet day!

That thing you did, you get a HIGH FIVE!

Only a few more days to get your retiring products before they are gone. So many items are already sold out. I really love funny sentiments for cards and the stamp set that I used on my card today has some funny bits & pieces to it. The set is {That Thing You Did}... and it DID make me laugh.

I used some bright colours on this card - Delightful Dijon and Tempting Turquoise. I stamped the high five sentiment a bunch of times over my angled front panel with Delightful Dijon, and once with Tempting Turquoise for a nice "pop" of colour to make it stand out a bit more.

At the bottom I stamped the sentiment "congrats on that thing you did", which I stamped tone-on-tone with Tempting Turquoise classic ink onto matching card stock. A cute way to to send some congrats, maybe for a graduation, promotion, a sporting achievement... so many occasions would fit nicely with this fun sentiment. I hope you like it, I've got a bunch more product shares with retiring products tomorrow. I hope you'll come back and visit me.

Here's the entire stamp set, super fun eh?!

Painter's Palette

Hello again! I've got another card featuring NEW products from the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue. The stamp set I used is called {Painter's Palette}. It is a fun set with brush strokes, paint splatters, an easel and some fun sentiments to coordinate. I decided to used some of the NEW In-Colours for 2016-2018 with some of my favourites. I used the new Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim and Peekaboo Peach. It's hard for me to choose a favourite of the new colours because I do like them all. But, I am prone to love orange and the peekaboo peach is a pale orange of sorts. It's funny, every year I try to guess which colour tones Stampin' Up! will choose and I'm usually pretty close. The last two years I've only been off by one. I was hoping for another gray tone, but 4 out of 5 ain't that bad!

I mixed the new colours with Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point. Dapper Denim is really close to Pacific Point, only a shade darker. I randomly added the paint swipes and splatters to cover a layer of Whisper White. Then I added the sentiment "Your idea to have a birthday was simply a stroke of genius". Love it!! Stamped with Archival Black ink and matted onto a piece of Pacific Point card stock.

This is a very simple card, but was fun to make. I hope you like it, have a great day!

Coming Soon: Swirly Bird, Swirly Scribbles & Affectionately Yours

Hello... I have a card featuring three brand new products to share today - two of them actually coordinate together, but they are pretty cool in their own right as well.

I used a colour palette of Lost Lagoon, Mint Macaron, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz for my card. I am going to miss Lost Lagoon sooooooooooo much! I started by stamping the background of my Whisper White layer with the swirly images from the {Swirly Bird} stamp set that is in the NEW Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue.

The swirly bird set has some fun images that are great for backgrounds. They are also great to shift your creativity into overdrive by trying to create fun shapes from the images like boats, kites, etc. I kept it simple by only using the swirls and the ink splatter image. I die cut a few of the {Swirly Scribbles} and adhered to the front of my card before adding a sentiment from {Affectionately Yours}, which is also from the upcoming catalogue. It has some pretty floral images, but I think the sentiments are my favourites.

I hope you like my card, have a great day!

Choose Happiness

Hello, what an odd weekend - weather wise. It seemed like late fall or early winter, we even had some flurries. I can't remember it ever snowing in May before?! Well, weather news aside... it's nice and sunny today, although still cold. I finally had a chance to stamp!! It's been far too long, but with so many things going on right now... I just didn't have the time. My upline, or team leader, Jenn had her monthly drop-in for her team on Friday and luckily I was able to go. I pulled out a beautiful stamp set called {Choose Happiness}. This is one of the many fabulous stamp sets that is set to retire at the end of this month so I just had to ink it up.

I went with an almost all purple colour palette with Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum. However, I did add a bit of Old Olive for the leaves. The pretty flower image, which I'm guessing it is a Zinnia... or maybe a Dahlia but I could be wrong? What do you think?

Zinnia (above) and Dahlia (below)

Image result for dahlia

I used a mask to give the appearance of the flowers on top of one another. To do this all you need to do is stamp your image you plan on masking onto some printer/copy paper and fussy cut it out - try not to leave a border. Stamp your first image onto your project, attach the mask with removable adhesive and stamp over it. When you remove the mask it will look like they are at different depths... neat-o, eh!? I used the mask when adding the leaves also. I just love this sentiment "When I need a friend, you're there." Such a pretty sentiment. A bit of Gold Metallic Thread, Rhinestones and that adorable little birdie and my card is complete. I hope you like it, have a good one!

Let's Paint the Town... or card with "faux" embossing

Hi there! I have a rather simple card today, but they are great to make a bunch of quick cards if you are pressed for time. Check it out...

I used "I love you sew", yet again.  This really is one of my favourites. I used another of my favourites, the "Brick wall textured impressions embossing folder" for the background. I didn't use it in tge "conventional" way, I used it as a stamp. You just add your ink directly to the embossing folder, place your paper, close it and rub. Open and there you have a fun faux texturized background. Neato eh?!

I added a bit of stamping with the sentiment to look like graffiti on the wall with splashes of blackberry bliss and lost lagoon inks using the paint brush stroke image. I added a small linen thread bow and a few "Petite petals" for a bit more of a softer feel. I'm pleased with how easy this came together, I hope you like it.

I love you SEW, yes I do!

Hello again! I have share with one of my top picks from the Occasions Catalogue, called {I Love you Sew}, which is the host/hostess set. Love, love, love it. I am a sucker for punny sentiments and sayings, and this set sure is full of them.

For this card, I have very few layers - which is very "unlike" me... but, with the busyness of the sequins and buttons I didn't want to distract from how fab they are. I tend to hoard both buttons and sequins, does anyone else do this? I went with LOTS & LOTS of bright, cheery colours. Here's the list: Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Cucumber Crush, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Real Red, & Old Olive, yep - I that's it!! That's it she says. I love colour so why not use just about all of them, right?!

I stamped a lot, I mean a lot of sequins and buttons, both small and large. Definitely adds a fun element with all the colours. I didn't want to overwhelm the card too much by adding more layer than necessary and I didn't want to cover up too much of the lovely colourful stamped images so I went very simple with the add-ons. Just a strip of Cucumber Crush, a strip of Pacific Point - stamped with the cross-stitching using {Archival Black Ink}. Then a couple of banners, one in Crushed Curry and one in Pumpkin Pie stamped with I love you sew sentiment. Attached with a couple of staples and done! It did take a bit of time to do the multicoloured stamping, but it was worth it. I hope you like it!

Since already had my stamps all ready to go, I decided to make another card...

This time I went with a few extra images, the paint swipe and beads to go with the buttons and sequins. Diagonal paint swipes with Cucumber Crush added a bold POP of colour.

Again, like with the first card I didn't want to make it even more busy so I kept the add-on's more basic. This time to go with the banners, I added a few "real" sequins from the {Brights Sequins Assortment} and a wooden "celebrate" sentiment from {Expressions Natural Elements}. Oh, and a bit of {Gold Metallic Thread}.

I hope you have liked my card shares, have a super day!

Ray of Sunshine, you are my Sunshine!

Hello, since there isn't much sunshine out there today - I thought I'd share some with my card inspiration. I used the stamp set {Ray of Sunshine}, which sadly is set to retire at the end of this month. It was on my very first order last June, there was something about the sweet sentiments and who doesn't love sunshine?! I've been on a mission to have all my shares this  month featuring some of my favourite retiring products, and this set is one of my favourites.

I paired it with a couple of other sets, first is a Project Life stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue called {Memories in the Making}. I just had to add even more sunshine using the sun stamp, stamping it all over the bottom layer.

For the large sun, I used the largest of the sun rays from Ray of Sunshine, stamping it once, then moving it over slightly and stamping a second time. I continued the process until I had enough to cover the card then added a 1-3/4" Circle Punch using Daffodil Delight Card stock. The ink is both Hello Honey & Daffodil Delight. I added a few clouds using the {Sprinkles of Life} set, which is the Ronald McDonald set for 2015-16 - and it's being carried over...yay! I'm not sure if they've ever done that before with a RMD set before? This set is awesome, so I'm super excited about that!!! The sentiment from Ray of Sunshine is also very appropriate, "You are my sunshine". I'm sure there are days for everyone where they could use a little bit of extra sunshine, I know I could. I hope you like it, have a great day!

Isn't this stamp set great? I love each of the sentiments, the two on the bottom are so inspiring. And that smiling sunshine face, so endearing. Available until May 31, 2016.
