Seaside Shore Layout: Our Beach Boy

Hello, I have a scrapbook layout to share with you today. We (my hubby and I) enjoy going to the beach, we try for at least once a week. We walk almost the entire length of the beach, which is close to 10 km. We always bring our dog, Tucker with us. I try to snap some photos of him.

When I first saw the {Seaside Shore} stamp set, I knew I could use some of my pics of Tucker. He was very happy to be perched upon my husband Mike's lap.

Other than my craft room the beach is my happy place, and it always keeps me calm and in the present moment. Which is great since I tend to think too far ahead. It must be relaxing and calming for our pooch Tucker because he is so well behaved when we are there - which is so unlike him. Seriously, he rarely behaves! He just walks along the shore as I walk in the water not a peep at all.

Well enough about that, onto the project details... I used the new {Seaside Shore} stamp set, which I fell in love with at first sight. It went straight to the top of my wishlist. I also used the coordinating {By the Shore Designer Series Paper}. I love this paper sooooooooooooo much. The patterns and colours are perfect!

I made the sandy background with the {Gorgeous Grunge} stamp set. I used several neutral tone colours - Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Tip Top Taupe and Smoky Slate. Some were directly stamped and some stamped off once. It gives a nice variance of colours just like real sand.

I stamped the sentiment "BEACH BOY" using the {Layered Letters Alphabet}. I made it a two-toned look so it would somewhat match the striped designer series paper. I inked up the letters with Soft Sky and added some Dapper Denim on the top and bottom of the stamps, it gives a neat-o effect. Just remember to ink the lightest colour first so you don't get dark ink on your lighter ink pads.

I love the variance of blue tones on this particular piece of paper, but I wanted to add a bit more colour, so I added a stamped banner sentiment and some colourful fish swimming about.

I'm going to mount this page into a frame to add to my gallery wall with the other layout pages I've made of my pooch. I hope you like it, have an awesome day!

Labeler Alphabet: Water Splotch Background

Hello again! When I first saw the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue the first thing I absolutely had to have is the {Labeler Alphabet} photopolymer stamp set. I still have one of the original label machines and still use it. It gives a nice retro feel. Don't you think?!

I decided to make a fun crafty print to hang on my craft room wall. I have a bunch of quotes pinned on Pinterest. I think the one I chose is super fun... "It's the crafty one's you have to keep an eye on". So true ;)

To create my background with the fun splotches, I used water colour paper and a few different shades of purple inks [Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plum and Sweet Sugarplum]. Add water to your re-inkers on a palette or small container. Using an {Aquapainter} or paint brush add some ink. Using a {Heat Tool} or hair dryer to dry the ink. Repeat with various colours and keep layering until you are happy with the entire look. It's really fun and can achieve a different and unique look each time. I hope you like it, have a super day!

Grateful Bunch... You are AWESOME!

Hello!! I've been on the water colouring kick lately, I thought for today I'd switch gears a bit. I have a fun flower card featuring one of the carryover stamp sets from the Occasions Catalogue called {Grateful Bunch}. The great thing about this set is the coordinating {Blossom Bunch Punch}. It makes your projects so much easier and faster to get done when you have a punch.

I used some fun and fresh colours, incorporating one of the new In-colours into the mix. I'm so happy that there is a new light plum colour, this is something I've been hoping for for a while. I used Sweet Sugarplum, Daffodil Delight, Rose Red and Cucumber Crush. I think they look awesome together, don't you?! I absolutely LOVE every stamp in this set, and the sentiments. The one I used on this card is my favourite "You are awesome". You could use it for so many different occasions. I hope you like my card, and you have an awesome day!!
