Live, Love, Grow: Build your own Terrarium

Good morning! One of the new sets that I was immediately drawn to was {Live, Love, Grow}. It's a two-step stamp set where you can build your own terrarium. Since I'm an avid gardener, both inside and outside it was perfect for me. This is what I came up with.

I used a Tip Top Taupe base card, with accent layers of Emerald Envy, Basic Black, Whisper White and Cucumber Crush. I'm so loving the new Emerald Envy colour!! The Emerald layer is embossed with the {Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder}. I decided to use some vellum and stamp the terrarium glass dome and fussy cut it out. To get the plants inside, I stamped with a lighter colour onto the Whisper White layer so I knew where to stamp my images so they were centered on the layer.

Isn't this set great?! Lots of possibilities for not just terrariums, The font is lovely too. I'm in love with it!

I first stamped the outline images, then the solid images - except I stamped off once to get a variance of colour tones from one shade. I love that you get double or triple tones from one ink pad. The pebbles image is stamped not only at the bottom of the terrarium, but I stamped it around the entire base layer with Tip Top Taupe ink. A bit of {Emerald Envy Solid Baker's Twine} and a {White Perfect Accent} dot for the handle on top of the terrarium. I hope you like my card, if you have any questions - please let me know! Have a great day!!!!

Ombre Bloomin' Heart

Hi again! I have a pretty card to share today. I used the {Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Dies} to create my focal point. I used watercolour paper and used Watermelon Wonder classic ink to make an ombre look. I did several layers to get the variance of colour that I liked. For the ombre look you want to try to seemlessly blend together the shades of colours with no lines.

You can do this technique with any colour you like and it has the same effect. I didn't want to make it overly complicated and let the ombre heart get center stage so I just added a few layers behind and a triple layered butterfly with Mint Macaron, Whisper White and Vellum card stock. I used both the {Butterflies Thinlits & Bold Butterfly Thinlits Dies} to create the butterfly.

The sentiment is from the {Live, Love, Grow} stamp set. It's a great set too, you can build your own terrariums - LOVE! I embossed my Mint Macaron layer with the {Elegant Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder}for even more dimension. Lastly, I added a bunch of Rhinestones to add some sparkle! I hope you like it and have a wonderful day!

A Balloon Celebration

Hello again! To all those Canadians out there Happy Canada Day to you!! I can already hear people setting off fireworks and it's daylight?! Today, I have lots and lots of colourful balloons to share. I decided to pull out one of my well loved sets that has been carried over into the new annual catalogue, {Balloon Celebration}. This is a great stamp set with lots of fun sentiments and it has a coordinating punch so you can't go wrong. Check out my card...

I was doing my research (a.k.a. playing on Pinterest), when I came across a video with some water colouring. Seeing that I was presenting on the same topic at my upline's event a couple of weeks ago... I clicked to watch it. She used a different stamp set (non Stampin' Up!), but it worked well with the set I used. The stamp has to be a solid image (not an outline stamp) to get the best results. Stamp your image with a brush & ink. Then stamp to your watercolour paper and blend the lines so it softens it to have more of a I painted this freehand watercoloured feel to it. Super neat-o eh?! I hope you like it, cheers!!
