High Tide + New Catalogue & Sale-a-bration starts today!

Hello stampers!

I can't believe that we're already in 2017, and with a new year comes a brand NEW Stampin' Up! catalogue and the BIGGEST sale of the year, Sale-a-bration. As always, it is full of awesome new products and stunning samples for us to drool over.

I shared a card using this set {High Tide} last week, and I just had to make another. I broke out my NEW {Watercolour Pencils} to colour in the stunning images.

I added some {White Craft Ink} to the to make the tops of the waves really stand out.

I spend a lot of time at the beach, it's one of my happy places and I find it so relaxing. We don't have a lighthouse like this stamp set, but I still think it's beautiful. Since the snow is melted, or partially we went for a nice long walk. I have a few pictures of the beach which is always an inspiration for me.

I have a few photos to share that inspired me. I believe this photo was taken a couple of days after Christmas, we still had a bit of snow covering bits of the sand. And, man was it ever wavy!

The Seagulls flying, almost hovering above my head. I was surprised to see so many birds, I guess they are used to the cold, Canadian winters you know? The birds followed me as I walked, I was nervous that they might have an "accident" on my head. Luckily that did not happen.

When they landed they just started at the waves. They did not attempt to go for a swim that day.

It was cold, but nice and sunny. The cold can't keep me away from the beach!

I have one last photo to share of my sweet Jeffrey... Isn't he just the cutest?!

Oh, and my nephew with his new shades, isn't he cute?!

High Tide: Let hope be your lighthouse

Hello stampers!

I FINALLY had a chance to sit down and make a card a few days ago. I pulled out one of my must have sets from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue that is available starting January 4, 2017. Eeeeekkkkk... that's next week, super exciting!! The set I used is called {High Tide}, it's a stunning set of "beach" themed images and paired with some lovely sentiments. It has a photographic look to the lighthouse, which gets double stamped. It's no secret that I love the beach, it's one of my happy places (even in the winter)... so this set was perfect for me.

I tried not to fuss too much playing for the first time. I thought the lighthouse image shines all on it's own, don't you? I kept it simple with only one ink colour, Crumb Cake. When you add the same colour on top, it actually makes it darker and appears like a deeper shade.

I stamped the flying birds a couple of times, again in Crumb Cake. Then the sentiment with Crumb Cake in the center and Island Indigo on the top and bottom. I like how the two-toned look turned out. I hope you like my card, I'm sure you will see more creations with this beautiful stamp set soon!

Yummy Little Christmas Treat Box-in-a-bag!

Hello Stampers!

Man, it sure has gotten cold the last few days... ah, well... it is December after all. So hibernating indoors is the perfect opportunity for some crafting. I have been making so many "treat" holders recently, I have one to share with you today featuring one set that I just had to have called {Yummy Little Christmas}. I love that the whisks look like snowflakes, perfect to stamp a lighter colour as a background image for your sentiment. I love to make handmade caramel and chocolate popcorn, chocolate covered pretzels and holiday chocolates so this set was perfect for me and why not have some pretty tags or packaging for the sweet treats. Today's box is kind of a bag... so I called it a box-in-a-bag.

I added a bunch of mini Hershey's chocolate bars to the inside, it held 6 nicely - you could squeeze in a couple more if needed. I added a little pocket to the inside that is perfect for a gift card to go along with the treats. This one has a Timmie's card, there is pretty much one on every street in my city since that's where it all started. A bit of twine to tie it all together and that's it! I hope you like it, have a sweet day! I will try to post the measurements this week, it's really a cute box/bag and really does fill a lot of treats.
