Aloha!

Aloha! I have a super fun card for you today. I came up with this card earlier in the year when we were deciding whether or not to have a 'luau' at my work. I work at a Senior's home, running the recreational programs - and luau's are always a fun program for us to run... we usually have a Steel Drummer or Hawaiian Dancers and everyone wears grass skirts and leis (even some of the men are game to wear the skirts too... why not, it's for fun?!) It is especially fun when it's cold outside, which it has been very cold - to have this fun party, dance to lively music, enjoy some good eats, play some games and keep warm in this cold weather!!

Now for my card... I envisioned a grass skirt when I designed this card - I used Chocolate Chip, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake cardstock and some Burlap Ribbon to create my skirt. I used the oh-so adorable Petite Petals punch to make my flowers in fun, bright colours like Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry - then finished it off with some Gold Sequin Trim at the very top for some glitz!

I made the 'aloha' which is goodbye and hello?  sentiment using My Digital Studio with the same brown tones used in the skirt. I'm really looking forward to our luau, as it's not only a fun time for my favourite Senior peeps... but also for me - and when they have fun and are happy, so am I! I'm hoping to have a Hula Hoop contest too... should be interesting :)
