Life is a Beautiful Ride: Hidden Messages Card

Hello crafty people! I shared a card last week featuring the {Beautiful Ride} stamp set. It's such a fun set of images and sentiments. For today's card share, I did some "paper piecing", not sure what that means? It's really simple - I stamped the punch buggy or Volkswagen Bug image onto Bermuda Bay card stock and stamped it a second time on a piece of Designer Series Paper, then fussy cut it out and added it directly on top of the previous image. It's as simple as that! Now my bug has some super rad stripes - I'd love a car like this! I made this card for my sister's wedding anniversary, which is today!

This is an interactive card also, which makes it even more fun. That cute little bug car can be removed and has a "hidden message" attached and ...

Then, it reveals another image "a couple snuggled by the sunset", but that's not all...

If you remove that too, you will find another "hidden message". The best part is that they all tuck in perfectly for a nice surprise. I started with one pocket, and I wasn't quite happy with it so I added another on top, but I still had the first pocket so I kept adding stuff. An added element of surprise!

I have made this card for my sister and brother-in-law, who are celebrating their 5th Anniversary today. Happy Anniversary to you both!!! I thought this card was extra special, so I had to give it to extra-special people - who's better than family!?! The sentiment Life is a Beautiful Ride & Celebrate, are perfect for an Anniversary and since they're in the same set it coordinates perfectly also. It's hard to see, but if you look at the sun, I stamped a face from the {Ray of Sunshine} set from the Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue - the sentiment under the VW Bug is also from that set.

To finish the last minute details, I had to add a bit of sparkle and shine with some {Rhinestone Basic Jewels} for the stars, some sparkly car exhaust with the new {Pool Party 3/8" Glitter Ribbon} - I just pulled the end apart with my paper piercing tool.

I also added a cute little bow using the new {Bermuda Bay 1/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon} and some {It's My Party Enamel Dots} to the center of the car wheels! Look at the fun fold also. I hope they like it and hope you do also. Have a super day :)

Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping!

It's My Party Makes a Beautiful Ride!!

When I sat down to "play" last week, it was so nice - since it's been a long time. I really wanted to take that super cute punch buggy for another spin - I actually took it for a couple of spins [a.k.a. - made a couple of cards]. I'll share the other card next week, so stay tuned!

I used alcohol markers to colour in the VW Beetle, the colours look so similar to Mint Macaron, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay so it coordinates with Stampin' Up! products perfectly! I do so miss Blendabilities.... sniff, sniff. Watercolouring works well also.

This stamp set is photopolymer, so it's super easy to make your sentiments curve like I did around images and die cuts. I usually stick it to my clear block, and hold it over the image I want place it over and keep adjusting until it's in the position I want, since it is clear - it's easy to do. I love this sentiment, and it's great for a bunch of different occasions.

My card layer is Mint Macaron, with a sheet from the {It's my party designer series paper stack}. It's the same piece, but I also used the flip side! This paper stack is so AWESOME, and it's all 12" x 12" - so you get a ton of great papers. I just had to add a bit of shine to my card with some {Metallic Silver Thread}.

Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping!

Life is a Beautiful Ride + Balloon Celebration

I just had to add some of my favourite image from the {Balloon Celebration} stamp set. I'm really not exactly sure what it is, a wheel possibly? It doesn't matter, I just love it - with its random lines. I've used it several times on different cards - I can't get enough of it. I made a pretty nifty background with it using Crumb Cake and Whisper White, check it out!

Pretty neato, eh?! I added the punch buggy, well because I really want to use it. I coloured it in with Stampin' Write markers, Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate and Basic Grey. The edges of the Tip Top Taupe card base are stamped with {Timeless Textures}.

I wanted to add another "fun" element to the card and incorporate a bit of shine with some Silver Cording Trim. I pulled a small piece (approximately 2") apart so it was just threads and added them to the exhaust pipe (well where it would be). It's like it's vroom, vrooming by - just like this entire year seems to have. Here's hoping 2016 will be a great one.

I hope you like my card, happy new year!!
