Square Pillow Box: Altered Sweet Treat Boxes

Hello crafty people!! I have a fun treat box to share today. I love sitting down to experiment with my dies to see how I can make alternate uses other than the original design - and that's what I have done for today's share.

I absolutely love the {Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies} - they are a great size for housing fun treats or small gifts for family, friends or co-workers! Check out my treat holders, I have three samples - but two different types of boxes. The first two look like little mugs.

I used the {Into the Woods Designer Series Paper} and the {Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper} to decorate my first "Treat Holder". I also used one of the sentiments from {Cozy Christmas}.

Isn't the little deer just precious - this paper is so nostalgic and very vintage inspired, I just love it. For the base of the treat holder, it's quite simple to create - just cut your die cuts twice.

Once you've done that - line up one of the ends with the 4" mark on your trimmer and cut the end off (one of the scored pieces) like shown above. Then attach your pieces together like shown below. To make the "handle" - just punch a 2" circle, then a 2-1/2" circle to get your "C" shape. Add a strip of adhesive - something strong to attach the handle and assemble the box.

Another great thing about these treat holders is that you can store them flat until you need them and add your treats later! You've gotta love that :)

I embellished my treat holder with a bit of {Gold Metallic Thread} for a tiny bit of shine, looks good peeking out behind the Christmas Tree and gifts! Don't you think?!

I naturally had to add some dimensionals to make my Christmas scene 3-dimensional!

For my second "treat holder" - this time I went simple black and white. I just can't put my Halloween supplies to rest just yet! I pulled out my {Sweet Hauntings} stamp set - since the sentiment Brewing up something sweet would work perfectly for a coffee inspired treat or some cookies.. I think it works!

I used my favourite paper - {Black Glimmer Paper}. I am so sad that this gorgeous, sparkly paper is retiring... good thing I've stocked up.

I added a strip to the top of my treat holder and a strip of the shiny {Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper} so pretty. Tied my sentiment on with some {Gold Cording Trim}.

It actually fits a lot of stuff - a nice holder for work pals or table favours for the upcoming holiday season.

This next box is slightly different. I scored 1" in on the cut end - punched some holes and some cording trim to keep it closed.

More Black Glimmer paper, some Silver cording trim this time. Super cute right?! I hope you like them, have a super weekend!!!
