Woodland Wonderland through the Trees

Hello... is it Thursday yet? That's when my Occasions Catalogue Pre-order arrives! I can't wait to tear open the box and play with my new toys!! New toys aside, I have some equally as fun older, but by no means old products to share with you. I keep seeing all these cards with an embossed background with stamped images in the foreground. It's surprisingly easy to do. 

You add your stamped images directly to the embossing folder. I chose to use {Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder}. which is sadly no longer available. It's currently on back order, but only current back orders will be shipped. I used {Wonderland} to stamp the trees with Mossy Meadow Classic Ink. Just stamp on the side with the tree images inset - more of the background - it has the Stampin' Up! logo on the side you want to stamp onto. Stamp directly onto the folder, add your paper and run through the Big Shot or whatever die cutting/embossing machine you have. 

I wanted to add some subtle colour to the rest of the card. I lightly sponged some Soft Suede Classic Ink to the raised embossed trees with a Sponge Dauber. I still wasn't happy with the look, so I used a Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker and outlined the trees and branches. I like this look much better. 

I stamped my sentiment Thinking of you at Christmas from the {Embellished Ornaments} stamp set. I used StazOn Ink onto Vellum so it wouldn't smudge. I punched out a Modern Label Punch, and scored 1/4" from the bottom and attached to my layer. I added a small bit of {Fast Fuse Adhesive}. It's funny that it doesn't show with this adhesive, gotta love that. I added a subtle amount of Soft Sky Classic Ink with a Sponge Dauber to the foreground of the embossed layer. My final detail is a {Snowflake Element} - I absolutely love these things! They add such a nice rustic feel to projects and they pair perfectly with this embossing folder and stamp set!
