From Land to Sea: Lighthouse

Today, we celebrate Canada Day! Happy 148th birthday - you're still as fabulous as ever! Every time I see a lighthouse it reminds me of Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia, not far from where my Uncle and Aunt live.

I envisioned this card from the moment I saw the From Land to Sea stamp set in the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. I pulled out my sponge daubers and went to work creating my seashore scene for this timeless lighthouse image. I absolutely love this stamp set, the images are so inspiring and great for masculine cards too.

I am so happy with how the lighthouse turned out. Especially since I used only Stampin' Write Markers to colour it in and it actually looks like it has blending and dimension. I used the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack, I chose a black one with hexagons... it's probably my favourite paper in the stack (big surprise, right?!). The sentiment is from the Best Thoughts host/hostess stamp set. I felt it needed a little bit more, but I didn't want to distract from the blending so I added a piece of frayed Burlap Ribbon and stapled it onto the sentiment portion of my card. I just love how this card turned out, I hope you do also.
