Wintery Sheltering Tree

Hello crafty people! I cannot say enough great things about the stamp set - Sheltering Tree. When I first viewed the Occasions 2015 Catalogue, I fell in love with this beauty... then I tried it - and the love affair continued. There is something about a tree stamped image, and the fact that you can add leaves, hills and other additions is even more perfect. I love tree stamps, Lovely as a Tree is one of my all-time favourites and this one will go right along with it! I shared a spring card back in December, which I love - but with this wintery stuff going on outside, I thought it was fitting to create a wintery themed card. I other great thing is that I only used one stamp set for this card. You can check it out below...

I love how Stampin' Up! makes creating beautiful cards so easy because their stamps are so beautiful all on their own. We just add the window dressing to finish them off! I decided for my card to make a field of trees, with the snow falling and just a few leaves (although they have turned brown) still remain on some of the branches.

I went with the colour scheme of Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake. Very soft colours, but fitting for the season that is winter! It's hard to see in the photo, but I added some sparkles to the trees, snowflakes falling and snowy drifts in the field of trees using Dazzling Details Glitter.

All that was needed to finish my card was a sentiment and a bow made from Whisper White Baker's Twine! I'm happy with how it turned out. As I look outside now, most of the snow has melted - but I'm sure that won't be like that for long as I live in Canada and snow is not an uncommon occurrence here!!

I hope you like my card, and have a wonderful day :)
