you & me # love

Good morning! What a down pour we had last night! It was raining buckets, and buckets... figures since I watered the garden. Not much sun today, maybe tomorrow?! I have a fun card today that I had brewing in my head for some time... lots of brewing, all the time - just like a coffee machine! Funny since I don't drink coffee.

I love a paper punch. If you've read any of my previous posts, you know that I am enamored with the hexagon and triangle punches. My head kept giving me ideas using the 1" square punch to make fun backgrounds for my projects. So I sat down the other day and gave it a go and here's my final project! Check it out below!!
I used the new Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist. I love the retro feel to the new colours, very 70's! Of course I always gravitate towards oranges, yellows and greens.. those are my colours! I like the look of the orange and green together. I cut a whole bunch of squares in both colours and cut them diagonally in half. Then made squares with one half on top of the other, until my piece was full of half squares (triangles!). I like the effect it created. I layered it onto a piece of Basic Black and then to a piece of the new 'All Abloom' Designer Series Paper.
Using the 'Blockhead Alphabet' photopolymer stamps I made my words and symbols! I added a couple of hearts to fill in the blank space, and I thought it could use a bit more black contrast on the left side of the card. And there you have it "you & me # love".
