Hello on our last day of June! I cannot believe how fast this year is flying by - we're already halfway done. It seems so fast too since our winter was longer than normal... ugh! I definitely do not want a repeat of that! Yesterday I taught a mixed media art class at my work for my favourite senior peeps! I haven't taken any art classes, but it seemed easy enough! It is really fun too, and you get to make a mess and that's always fun! Then I get to clean it up and organized everything again.. which is fun too!! I know I'm a weirdo...this is nothing new!! I love that each person's work turned out completely different, but awesome at the same time and they were all quite pleased. I think I'm going to have to try this art thing again!!
One of the sets I immediately had to have was 'A Happy Hooray'. I'm a sucker for shapes, especially the hexagon! I really love the flower silhouette and the feather too. This set definitely has a lot of miles on it already!!
Here's how I made my card... I started by cutting a layer of Basic Black, then Very Vanilla and another layer using the 'Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack'. Then stamping the 'Hooray' image 3 times and cutting them out, it was quick since it's straight lines! I punched out 3 Basic Black 'Label Bracket Punches' . I stamped and cut out 2 feathers and added a bunch of twine. It was quite simple and I love the contrast of the Black, Vanilla and Lost Lagoon!
