Embossed Butterfly Basics!

I love the Butterfly Basics stamp set... it was the first thing I ordered from the Occasions Catalogue. There is something about a butterfly image that gets me, and flowers... we'll nature inspired images too... I know a lot of things! But, I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves this set?! I decided to do an embossed resist technique using four colours that work beautifully together, Blackberry Bliss, Perfect Plum, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.

I stamped several of the foliage stamps on the left and right sides of the cards front layer in versamark and embossed with clear emboss powder, then stamped some in Bermuda Bay.... gave a wipe and sponged some Blackberry Bliss. Then wiped again, until I was happy with the colours added.

For the butterfly, I diecut the medium sized on using Perfect Plum and adding some silver with the Encore Metallic pad, and some clear emboss powder. Then sponging a bit of blackberry bliss.. so pretty and shimmery. Then for the smallest butterfly, stamped in Blackberry bliss and embossed with clear powder and I sponged some Bermuda Bay to the image - more on the right side for a nice contrast.

To finish, I added a sentiment in Blackberry Bliss and clear emboss powder again, then sponged some more Blackberry Bliss, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay along the edges of the card.
