Grungy You Plus Me

It seems like I've been on this grungy-vintage inspired theme lately with my cards. Not really sure why that is, but I'm pleased with the results I've been getting. I was designing some Valentine's cards a few weeks ago, but since I used the You + Me sentiment from the You Plus Me stamp set, it could work for multiple occasions besides Valentine's. I didn't think I'd use this stamp set as much as I have, another good purchase!

I chose antique colours of Cajun Craze, Soft Sky, Soft Suede and Gold. I embossed the Soft Sky piece with the Happy Hearts Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I added some Metallic Gold Ink using the Encore pad and randomly stamping colour - then I added some Gold Embossing Powder and heat set it to make it permanent. I like that some of the pale blue is peeking through.

I added some punch outs using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and randomly placing them over the embossed hearts. I love that they coordinate perfectly with the embossing folder! I sponged a bit of gold on the edges too - to grunge them up a bit. I added the sentiment with some banners - like a ribbon or award - I of course wrinkled the paper and added more gold. You may also notice I distressed the edges of the Soft Suede cardstock layer with the Distressing Tool - another product that gets a lot of use. I hope you like it, have a great day!
