Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum: Just because

Hello...... I have another share today featuring the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum. Yesterday I shared an Easter Box I made with it, today I have a card... and a PINK one at that! I do like Strawberry Slush, it's not quite as shocking a pink as Melon Mambo. I think if I had to choose a preferred pink that it, Strawberry Slush would be my choice. Sadly, it is one of the colours that will be retiring in June when the new catalogue launches. I have my predictions as to which types of colour shades will come out with the NEW In Colours - let's see if I'm right?! I was bang on last year! Well, anyhooooo......... onto my card.

I used the scalloped piece of designer vellum - I love all the designs, but this one jumped out at me instantaneously saying pick me, pick me - it really was quite persistent!!! I coloured it in with Blendabilities - I know, they are no longer available. But I caved and ordered the Melon Mambo collection just a week before they announced the discontinuation of the line. I couldn't see them go unused, and it's similar in tone to Strawberry Slush, which I used for my card base. Although, you could use Stampin' Write Markers also - they just take longer to dry (but your heat tool can speed up the process!)

I, of course had to add some Basic Black layers. What can I say, I'm a sucker for black? I don't think a day goes by that I don't have black on in some part of my daily wardrobe... of course paired with something bright too. I cut the largest framelit from the Apothecary Accents Frameltis Dies,  but cut off part of the left side. I stamped the outlined flower image from the Butterfly Basics  stamp set - this set sure has a lot of miles on it! I stamped with Versamark and added Gold Emboss Powder, heat set onto my Basic Black die cut Card stock. I thought it still needed a bit of a "pop", so I added some white ink in the empty spaces.

I used the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set, and the Just Because sentiment - I made a banner with Gold Glimmer paper, matted onto Strawberry Slush. I decided to cut it out - well, just because! I cut up a piece of 1/8" Gold Ribbon - the super silky one and added some shards behind the sentiment along with a strip of Venetian Crochet Trim and attached with some dimensionals. I enjoyed making this card, to try something different and pink! I hope you like it, have a fab Friday... I have another Sale-a-bration product to showcase tomorrow (only 5 days left to earn your Sale-a-bration items) - I hope you'll come back to visit me :)
