Blended Bloom without MARKERS!

I made my card today a few weeks ago, before the announcement that Blendabilities Markers are discontinued. Still so sad about that. But my card does appear that I used Blendabilities Markers to colour in the the pretty blossom using the single Blended Bloom stamp from the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue. I used some fresh spring-like colours... Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry Classic Inks.

I am a sucker for sponge daubers - I have at least one for each of my colours (including retired colours!). I used the daubers and a make-up applicator, you know the kind for eye shadow, Not sure why I had a pack in my craft room - but they have a more precise tip and gave it a go and I was so pleased to see the results.

Before I started adding colour, I first stamped multiple blooms with Versamark and heat set with White Emboss Powder. I didn't want too many layers as I think the blooms pop nicely off the card without any layers or dimensionals. I stamped the "Happy Blooming Birthday" from the Flower Patch stamp set - heat set using Gold Emboss Powder on Vellum and wrapped it around the card with Whisper White Baker's Twine and tied with a bow!

I hope you like my card, and have a wonderful Wednesday!
